Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Never thought about this until just now!!---hhhmmmmm----if all the water is in one place, then does that mean that it was like one giant island???? Or was it elongated somehow with narrow and wide places, but still with the seas all around it?? Could have been shaped in many ways and still have the seas in one place---what brought this up???

Yes.

Yes.

Scientists named this sea: Panthalassa.

They are not anywhere near close before the breakup or after it.
According to Post 10, could a person living then WALK from New Jersey to Mesopotamia?

And the importance of New Jersey and Mesopotamia being closer or further away is________________???
That the Flood was global, and not just relegated to the area of Mesopotamia.

The Ark didn't just rise up, bobble around in circles, then set back down, but actually traveled about three thousand miles from its point of origin.

In addition, Noah was building an Ark in a landlocked area; a unique display of faith.

This thread stems from a conversation I just had with RickG.

I shall try to be as concise as I can with my questions, and all I ask in reply is for honest answers.

Question: In your opinion, are there some global flood believers out there who believe the earth was one giant landmass in Noah's time?

Just YES or NO please?
I know of global flood believers that think all the water was teleported to Neptune, so I'm sure putting Pangea at the wrong time is within the realm of what someone somewhere might believe

Question: Doesn't it logically follow that New Jersey would be much closer to Mesopotamia, since the Pacific Ocean is elsewhere as a part of Panthalassa?
No, that assumes a proposed super continent 6000 years ago held some special configuration.

There have been many super continents

That the Flood was global, and not just relegated to the area of Mesopotamia.
There are global floods documented in the mainstream scientific literature, but what we are talking about is sea level rise, not a flood that covers all land.

The Ark didn't just rise up, bobble around in circles, then set back down, but actually traveled about three thousand miles from its point of origin.
BTW, engineers have shown that a boat the size of those described in the flood story would break apart because an all wood boat that big is will not hold together.

In addition, Noah was building an Ark in a landlocked area; a unique display of faith.
So, what happened after the flood with the position of the continents?

A couple thousand miles at the very least, and don't forget that 150 ma ago would have dinosaurs.
Then I'll move on to my next question.

According to Wikipedia, New Jersey is one of ... if not the most .... populated areas for pine trees, called the New Jersey pine barrens.

Assuming the pitch that Noah was instructed to use came from the pitch pine, can you think of a better place for the Ark to have been constructed?

If you can, please be very specific as to where.

Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Is this when the continents broke up? Because then, only after the flood are isles mentioned
Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
Gen 10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

It doesn't mention any upheavals after the flood that I can remember.
