Why do you need multiple people to tell you that it would have been impossible for New Jersey to be touching Europe in the time of Noah's human ancestors? Care to explain how you think the Atlantic Ocean could have come into existence in the last 10,000 years or so? That would be impossible, for the reasons we have listed.
I thought I said the Atlantic Ocean was a part of Panthalassa, did I not?

I see.

You're not monotheistic?

Or are you interpreting "we" as including the angels?
Yeah, that kind of throws a few dirty dippers in the pamper, doesn't it? Nothing in the bible about God creating angles. Genesis 1:26 also implies he had help in creating everything? Bit of a quandary....hmmmm?

Do you have a beard, herd goats, and live in Palestine in Bible times? I think that might help your case.
There does seem to be a strange element of fetishizing ancient peoples as some exotic, mystical group...

My parochial high school consciously avoided that trap. A popular mantra in my theological education when approaching the Old Testament was "If it couldn't happen now, it didn't happen then."

Nothing in the bible about God creating angles.
What's this then?

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ok, the water that is now the Atlantic Ocean was a part of a large body of water that once surrounded Pangea. Understood.

My question is if New Jersey was touching Europe in recent human history so that Noah's immediate ancestors could simply walk west to New Jersey, how do you explain the later movement of North America all that distance to form the Atlantic Ocean? That could not possibly happen in a few short years or centuries, as you seem to be claiming.

This is the problem. You claim something that is impossible. We point out that it is impossible. You ignore us, and ask if anybody else has any comments.

Again, why do you need multiple people to tell you that it is impossible for North America to have drifted thousands of miles in a few centuries or less?

God split the Genesis 1 landmass into five large continents in the days of Peleg (Genesis 10).

Your failure to answer, is even more cute.
I already answered it.

God does not create ex nihilo, since He rested ("ceased") on the seventh day.

I believe you guys call that the First Law of Thermodynamics.

Do you believe the level of mass/energy has increased in the last 6019 years?

Does this mean god is limited by the first law of thermodynamics? Yes or no?

No.

It means, from our perspective, that God has limited Himself to thermodynamics.

Remember what Jesus said here?

Matthew 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

God is not beyond self-limitation?

God split the Genesis 1 landmass into five large continents in the days of Peleg (Genesis 10).

I know you think it happened. You already told us that.

My point is that this breakup of the continents in your timeframe is impossible. The first law of thermodynamics you are so fond of says that energy cannot be destroyed. If the continents had broken up and traveled across thousands of miles, then the heat generated would have been so great it would have evaporated the oceans. The energy has to go somewhere. It's basic first law of thermodynamics.

Somehow you insist that the first law of thermodyamics was absolute after the sixth day of creation, and yet was totally bypassed when the continents broke up many years later. Which way is it? Does the first law apply or doesn't it?

How did God keep Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from burning up in a furnace heated seven times beyond its thermal capacity?

If you can answer that, then simply apply that same miracle to your scenario.

No.

God is not limited BY the first law of thermodynamics; He is limited TO the first law of thermodynamics.
