So this is a question I have been thinking about and I would like if someone can share their belief on this.

We have many accounts of people who were dead and were resurrected. Lazarus is a prime example but there are examples of these instances in both the OT and NT.

If when someone dies, they simply live on in another form and are taken to another place, why is it that will all of these people who were dead and then resurrected, that no one has shared their experience of being taken somewhere? if Lazarus would have shared where he was taken for the 3 - 4 days after his death that would really clear up the confusion of what happens after death.

Or is it that death is really death so the dead have nothing to report after they have been resurrected?

Everybody dies, we know it. It is our destiny. Sooner or later someone will buy for us a coffin for a bed. Then our:

  • Body returns to the ground Ecclesiastes 12:7
  • Soul clings to the dust Psalm 119:25
  • Spirit [the breathe of life] returns to God Ecclesiastes 12:7

But before that we close our eyes and never to wake again until Judgement Day. There 2 resurrection:

Are there people in heaven at this very moment? Yes, 3 people
They are in heaven together with God, the four living creatures, 24 elders and the angels. How about our loved ones who died? They are not in heaven, not in hell either and definitely not in purgatory. They are still with us - dead in the cemetery.

CONCLUSION: The dead remain dead until the heavens are no more. They will rise and be judged on Judgement Day.

Jesus came back from the dead, and He also came down from Heaven; He told us with authority about the afterlife. Listen to God and not to men.
