CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. It seems kind of neat at first, but I can see what others are saying about it wasting space for short posts. I truly hope that dial-up users don't get stung with this.
On the other hand, I gotta get myself some blessings back and get some armour!! Does this mean we get longer signatures too??

Jn207 - if you don't like it you can disable each of the sections individually.

It's actually not too bad on dial-up.
I used my parents computer and my laptop both with 56K modems last night, and didn't have any problems getting the pages to load. In fact, they seemed to load rather quickly...even on my laptop which is slow to load anything.

could you set up a feature in our control panel that allows us to find the thread that people in our buddy list are currently browsing, when they are on line.

Not a bad idea. It's a hack though. I would have to find time to do that... mmm... time is a rare commodity with me...

You cannot change your username yourself. I will change it for you, but we do not allow members to change their usernames multiple times because this confuses the other members.

Sorry Erwin Forget Sky! He is only one member. I assure you there are more here who like the local time. There are many many things Sky doesn'y like. But the local time is one MORE of us DO like. Please return it unless it overloads the server. I was talking with a member today that was asking the difference in time. It was the first feature I really appreciated about the forums.

Does anyone else here like the Local Time feature? It's very easy for me to put it back on... it puts NO load on the server at all.
