Hi Caty, can I suggest you try something?
Instead of focusing on worrying, focus on praising God. I know, that may sound hard to do with these ocd thoughts going on in your mind. Try your hardest to ignore intrusive thoughts and focus on honoring God. Take your thoughts captive:
2 Corinthians 10:5-"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
When you notice that you are starting to worry, switch your attention to praising God. Focus on praising God. Resolve to give God everything, pray to him and tell him that you give all of your anxiety and problems over to him. Ask him to lead you and guide you.
Focus on pleasing, glorifying, and honoring God in everything you do and not on worrying. Honor him with your actions and your attitude, by the way you live. When you wake up in the morning, thank God for the day and praise him. Things going good? Praise him! Things going bad? Praise him!
Hebrews 13:15-"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."
In all your ways, acknowledge him. Like for example, if you are eating and drinking, thank God for it and ask him to bless it.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." Glory to God!
I like to point out verse 5 of the verses above.....Trust in the LORD with all your heart! Lean not on your own understanding. God's ways are higher than our ways. Seek his counsel. God knows you have OCD.
1 Corinthians 10:31-"Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Colossians 3:23-"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,"
James 4:10: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."
Humble yourself before God. Get on your knees and cry out to him. Hand all your anxiety over to him. Ask him to forgive you of all your sins in Jesus precious name!
1 Peter 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you."
Psalms 31:24-"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD."
Obey God fully and redirect your focus from your anxiety and ocd to glorifying, honoring and pleasing God. Don't worry about the OCD (I know it's easier said than done), focus on praising God. Give God your anxiety.
Praying for you Caty. Just remember to try and redirect your focus from your thoughts to praising God!
Also, I saw earlier in this topic that you worry about your health and you look up the symptoms. I had that really really bad in 2003-2004 and 2008. I can't remember how many times I broke down. I would constantly search symptoms and think I had a disease. This is called hypochondria, another form of OCD. You have to avoid obsessively searching symptoms (not saying that you should avoid it all together, just don't do it obsessively). That just keeps the cycle going. If you think there is something wrong, go to a doctor. I was able to overcome it by coming to God. Praise God! Break these thought cycles and take them captive. We are told not to worry and be anxious. God will take care of us if we trust in him.
