• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

yes, set apart from the rest of the Bible this seems great news. But put with the rest of the Bible you see that it means all of those except the ones who have committed that sin.

This verse is not set apart from the rest of the bible , but rather agrees with the whole bible
Here are some of the many other passages it agrees with.

Isaiah 55:1
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

John 7:37
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If Any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 6:35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Revelation 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Zechariah 13:9
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Mark 2:17
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luke 5:32
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Galations
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Romans 9
30What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

John 6:47
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Caty , have you made that appointment for medication you mentioned earlier.
I really think professional help may be a good idea, and medication has helped so many people.

Who lets us know that Jesus is our Saviour and Lord?
Who lets us know Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world?
Who draws us to Jesus?
Who said whosoever will may come?

16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

I mean does everyone with ocd thought's just pop into there head. because mine always dont---they have before. But Im always thinking about religious things, so when anything bad happens I have a bad thought about God and I try to fight them. Its like someone is forcing a belief about God and His character on me, and I try to fight it but when im in these ocd fits I cant see anything but the bad. but then days or hours or mins later when Im not so anxious. I see how awful my thoughts were and I feel terrible. Has anyone dont this and please tell me the truth and talk about ocd with me. Because to me I dont have ocd and I just want people to tell me if they have had experiences like this?

I used to think just like you. Take that leap - and know that you have OCD. God understands everything about OCD....you don't need to. You will never get it all figured out. And that's ok. Just get help and do the therapy. What you are doing now is not working....why not try something different? All I can say to you is that you are very classic OCD. Trust that all of us here see it. Trust a psychiatrist....allow God to work in you and make you well.

May I ask what is OCD exactly? My husband insists that I am but I am not really seeing it except for maybe in my house cleaning. Saw the thread so though I would ask and feel it could be relevent before posting an answer on this as well. Besides the fact that I have had no sleep and am sooo tired now is not the time to write posts that require me to think too much at this hour.

~Blessings~

OCD can take on many forms - too much cleaning, fear of germs, counting, religious thoughts....and many others. It is considered OCD when it affects your daily life and the lives of your family. It really can only be diagnosed by a psychiatrist, though.

Please start your own thread, and ask more questions. And welcome to the forum, MotherHeart. :)

Honestly, yes. And we all think we are some special case with different thoughts than anyone else. But it's all OCD just the same. :)
