  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

NO! it is written by God!we still have the true and original Bible

... the bible isnt writin by some god in the sky.. it was written by men.. in a time of much religous and philosophical cross pollonation... writin by men comtemplating the unknown....tales told around a savior god/man that was nearly identical to many other cultures savior figures of the time... a fusion of tales was in the works

.. the books of the bible were chosen from many more then just those my friend... compiled by the romans... looking for a canon to unite and control there empire.. a religious law that would be enforced for the next millenium and a half... they chose a few books and burned and killed everything or one else that painted a different picture... and we are finding now some of those lost works.. ie. the gnostic gospels of nag hammahdi... there is much more to the history of the bible then would appear at first glance ole chum

the new age is still here today

Yep, sure is.

.. well.. actually the adoption began around 1875.. with the theosophical society... but really blossomed with the hippy/spiritualist movement of the 60s...

True. I don't think the term New Age was coined that early. Though, perhaps it was.

It's not that no one read your comment, it's just that it didn't have anything to do with what little the OP was. R&B music doesn't make people pregnant, people make people pregnant. If you don't like the music or the message, please don't listen to it.

And so that was why I would support New Age...because I stink at dating and that sorta stuff

... whatever floats your boat... all is relative.. every souls spiritual and mental path is a personal one.. and there are many paths up the mountain of spiritual evolution... it is a matter of broadening your perception....power to you;):)

christians didnt kill the catholic church killed the christians

... where do you think all the branchs of christianity we have today origated from?.. constantine and the roman catholic church... the creator of the law that you beleive in christ.. or you die.. and burn for eternity in the next life (fear mongering tactics)... but usually u didnt wait long.. cause if you didnt beleive.. they killed you in THIS life:p

... before that there were tons of random spiritual groups and preachers.. gnostics and mystery schools... philosophers and healers...from many cultures... and alot of time for cross pollonation of beleif and fusion of ideas

.. 'new age' is nothing but a term coined by the church to discredit all the people re-discovering all the ancient knowledge and practises that they dont approve of...simple scare tactics... keeping the faithful sheep in order.... much like the propaganda smear campaign the church waged against the 'pagans' back in the day... which in essence.. just means 'country bumpkin'

... supernatural is just a word for things we dont yet understand or accept...

.. the only limit is your own conceptions;)
excellent insight

Thanks, Lucas, for that support. Okay, okay, I know that music doesn't make ppl pregnant...it's just the message it sends and I'm sick of the darned R&B music...of today I wish New Age music would "kick it in the hindquarters". I wish it would disappear. Because of it, I am forced to listen to it, whenever I visit somebody I know. I know that this may be against the subject...but, not everyone has a significant other.

Ok, so how does instrumental music cause your problems? You don't want to listen to it, and your friends listen to top 40 music....so you feel stuck? I am not trying to sound like I am not sympathetic, I am just trying to understand.

hahahaha.. wow... thanks for the history lesson.. but actually i was refering to the origins of the political/religous institution known as christianity in the mainstream of rome.. a documented historical event.. unlike that of god and miracles and orignal sin... which where all scare/conversion tactics created to swoon the 'pagans' over the the new 'only right way'.. decided by constantine... do your homework reggie;)

Yeah. I do feel stuck. Another thing: They seem to enjoy the way most of the music sounds...but it just sounds like weird arrangements of computer generated sounds and notes and stuff, to me, most of the time. And then there are those songs and lyrics about love and sex (usually love)...something that seems to be out of my reach...I don't know...but I have a repression about listening to stuff like that. When I do listen to love songs, they are usually 80's retro, or New Age music, itself (like Jim Brickman, Yanni, etc.) and it's a thing about being urban and being in my ethnic group. It doesn't bode well with me...and coitus is gross, so that's my rambling. :sigh:

I can understand about listening to what is kosher so to speak of a particular ethnic group....if you want to listen to some really great bands though, and christian in nature, I do like the tooth and nail records label. Maybe you can find something that you like with a Christian message on there. www.toothandnail.com.
