I could use some advice on how I can gain weight....if anyone can PLEASE help me out here. I weigh in at only around 90 lbs...(I lost down to this...due to the Panic Attacks and lots of stress I am going through). I am really not in a good way...right now.
I cannot eat any sweets of any sorts to help me gain weight because it causes me to have panic attacks as well. :(
So what can I eat or take to help me gain weight without any sugar in it? I definently don't want to get anorexic again like I was in "85". The way things are going I am heading that way again. :help:

If anyone has any kind of advice or ideas...could you please share with me.
Thanks. :)

I have a similar problem.

At the moment I keep my weight up by eating snacks which are healthy but high energy - things like peanut butter on crackers, mini-cheeses, full fat yoghurts, dark chocolate, dry fruits.

I make myself eat them even when I'm not hungry, its eay if you do it regularly instead of waiting till later in the day when it's difficult to eat a lot.

Good luck, and let us know how you go :)

You can make smoothies with Thai Kitchen coconut milk. I was looking for the book with the recipe but can't find it right now. It's in a book called Patient Heal Thyself. You can add frozen fruit to it and coconut oil, vanilla. It helps people gain weight.

When I had trouble gaining weight about 30 years ago... :D .... I drank something called Nutrament. Wow I just did a search and it's still around.

I also agree with protein powder my favorite being Goatein.

From my long experience with panic attacks....if they are that bad with you....they may just not go away without meds. And for what its worth....I never could gain even a pound of weight without busting my tush with workouts and huge amounts of expensive weight gain shakes and drugs...and when I stopped....POOF it was gone like lightning fast....muscle and all. Stress and anxiety are terrible for your body. When I took meds for it though....my metabolism for the first time since I was a child calmed down and I was able to begin gaining weight....QUITE easily. May I suggest seeing a doctor?

Also weight lifting and eating lots of protein and complex carbs never hurt anyone. :)

God Bless!!

eat nuts. Peanuts, Almonds, chestnuts...

And do body building to gain weight...

Do you do excercise?

I'm super thin. And it always got me upset when the nurse at school would tell me with a very serious face that I was too thin and that if I didn't gain weight, she'd have to take action... what could I do? Eat 4 tb of butter with my peas? Believe me that doesn't taste good. Grow my hair? It already long enough. So what could I do? Well that was years ago...

The reason why I ask if you do exercise is because when I was a teenager and suffered a lot of stress, running 2 Km once a week helped calm my stress a lot. And now, I do ballet 4 times a week, and it's so good to do an activity that helps you forget your psychological mess for a while, and leaves you relaxed and de-stressed in the end.

I wish I had that problem, not about the panic attacks, but gaining weight. Maybe you could double up on the carbs since that is what supposedly so many people are cutting out when they diet, and eat an extra meal each day...if thats not unhealthy. If you are seriously concerned though, I suggest you call up a dietician to help you.

Thanks everyone for your advice on this. I really appreciate this and will keep all of it in mind. I have been looking around in stores for some kind of Gain Weight Powder that I can make a shake out of...but with very little sugar in it. (That is hard to find). :(
My goal is to gain at least 10-15 lbs. I hope I can reach that.

Oh...and the only meds I am taking for my panic attacks/anxiety are...Lorazapam/Ativan.
