Does "born again" mean "completely indoctrinated"?Apparently you were a cultural Christian but never born again, receiving a changed nature. If you were born again you would never deny the reality of it (it would be like denying that the sun is in the sky). I know many, many who were cultural Christians until the became born again.
Perhaps you should read what you post ... the "Jesus" is listed nowhere in there. Could be Batman for all you know. The same as here, Jesus Christ...
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
(1Pe 2:24)
Nope. It means being made alive to the things of God.Does "born again" mean "completely indoctrinated"?
Fair enough, here it is in context...Perhaps you should read what you post ... the "Jesus" is listed nowhere in there. Could be Batman for all you know.
Everyone is indoctrinated... some unto lies and some to the truth. (I know, that's tough for a postmodern world where they wander around asking 'what is truth'?)For one flavor of christianity, it appears so.
What exactly does that mean? Do you think that all Gods are imaginary except yours? or do you believe in all Gods?Nope. It means being made alive to the things of God.
Didn't you promise to never again post a challenge? If you believe that the universe has always been running under the same set of laws, I challenge you to describe to me a hypothetical planet in existence today where people routinely live to be 600-900 years old, and tell me how they live that long under current conditions.
Kind of depends when 1 Pete was written, no?Fair enough, here it is in context...
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
(1Pe 2:21-24)
Catch up, please: see post 39.Didn't you promise to never again post a challenge?
Ain't no thang!I'll keep that in mind, thanks for pointing that out. Didn't feel like reading the thread.
Do you care when people act on their irrational beliefs? like denying blood transfusions to their children or praying for them instead of taking them to a doctor?I am with you. I dont care what people believe.
Also, the NT was written in greek and Jesus' followers didnt speak greek.
They were fishermen who knew only about the things that went on around them, try putting yourself in their shoes/sandles, there was no such thing as 'news' just stories people around them told and with each telling the story changed, everyone who heard a story retold it in their own way adding whatever was needed to make the story more exiting, 10 soon became 50 and 50 soon became 500.How do you know that? Thanks to Alexander the Great, Greek was the Lingua Franca of the Roman Empire.

Those men could run rings around a lot of us today ... even in the punctuation department. They were fishermen who knew only about the things that went on around them, try putting yourself in their shoes/sandles,
