Jesus or no Jesus.
That's the bottom line, isn't it?

Well ... for those who say "no Jesus," Wikipedia has a little surprise for them:
Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically,

SOURCE

As to His deity:

John 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

And how did He answer?

John 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

Let me put His answer in terms you're familiar with:

BC/AD, Christian iconography, edifices, hymns, martyrs, holidays, documentation, and the like.

Yet, just like back then, people still doubt.

History repeats itself.

I think that only applies to the English speaking world.
Back then people followed for a few reasons,
1. It was easier and less life threatening to be part of it than against it. [like today in some parts of the world including America]
2. Uneducated people are a lot easier to be convinced by magic than educated people.
3. The religious texts were kept hdden away from the people in order to controll them.
4. Fear always concentrates the mind, keep them afraid and you keep them in line.

I don't think this has anything to do with language.

1. Really? Then why did Rome do everything it could to stop Christianity in its tracks before it got started? Not to mention having a little help from Saul of Tarsus.

Acts 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2. Peter, a tax collector and publican, could probably do more math in his head than the average calculator. Judas was the treasurer, and could probably handle money better than the average banker; but of all of them, Philip holds the record; being able to respond instantly to budget per capita in his head.

John 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

3. Negative. There was a copy of the "religious text" kept in the Temple in case anyone tried to Arab phone them. They served as the source document. Try NIVing the U.S. Constitution and see how far you get? Only an educated person would buy into the lie that God's word came to us via the Telephone Game.

4. Does fear work on you? If not, mind if I disagree? Besides:

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

If you want fear, you should have been around during Y2K.

You have swallowed the whole story hook, line and sinker haven't you? to me that show a complete lack of imagination, what about all the other religions out there? are they all completely wrong and if so why are they wrong? we know why you were convinced by Christianity because it was the only one you were exposed to when you were young. I don't understand why religious people can not see this, perhaps they do but they simply choose to ignore it.

I sure hope so! I was caught by the Fisherman!

Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

What about them? they would turn tail and run when Rome came around.

Christianity didn't, and the results are obvious ...

Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Hebrews 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
Hebrews 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
Hebrews 11:38 ( Of whom the world was not worthy: ) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
[/quote]These are called "martyrs."

You know what they are, don't you? you're taught that they died for believing something they knew was a lie.
Nat Page said:

Yes. Even the ones that use Scripture to make a point here and there.

Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Nat Page said:
and if so why are they wrong?
Why don't you debate one with your science and see how it turns out?

Christians won't run; Hindus will starve themselves to death; Buddhists will set themselves on fire; and Islam ... well ... God has plans for them.

What keeps me a Christian then?
