Well I was on the Christian hard rock radio listening to stuff for about two hours and this band called Pantokrator was playing. I thought nothing of it.

Pantokrator - Aurum - Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives 'The Madness of Nebuchadnezzar'

Then this guy mentions about how a metal pastor, Bob Daily, was associated with these guys called the 'Ordo Aurum' and when I saw one of the videos, the same 'TGO OTA' topic came up as the 'lyrical topic' in the band's description on the Metal Archives

Pantokrator - Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Archives

Then I find that Pantokrator is in the Ordo Aurum's band roster, which made me course with spiritual wariness.

Pantokrator

Look at the top left of the screen. The logo is the exact same as the Aurum album cover. The album cover is the logo for the Ordo Aurum.

Ordo Aurum - The Golden Order of the Almighty

Although they confess to traditional Christian sentiments in their belief statement, they have extrabiblical things right on the front page which creeps me out.

I am left somewhat shocked that the band, in which I just heard randomly on the Christian rock station, was actually part of the secret religious society that the other guy mentioned to me without me even mentioning Pantokrator at all. Very creepy.

So I need prayer that God will ease my conscience and let me think this through with a sound mind instead of being frantic and anxious.

I've never run across the Ordo Aurum before. However, in just looking at their website, it seems to me to be nothing much more than a Christian Fraternity for Christian metal band musicians...or something to that effect.

To me it seems like a blend of that and some form of mysticism. It gave me a funny (odd) vibe.

What part of their website seems to indicate to you that they are involved in some kind of non-Christian mysticism?

The symbolism on the front of the page reminds me of the Kabbalist faith.

"Find the way from the Havilah shore to the golden city on the other side of Bifrost.
Build your house with lady Sophia, cut the seven pillars from the solid rock of ages,

For he is wisdom in fullness and splendour, he is the mystery of God,
He is the word of creation and, its goal and the true Gold of the golden city.
Follow the late grandmaster Ezra through the Torah,

Marvel in the miracle of metal (the hidden treasure of the earth) with Tubal-Cain.
Marvel in the miracle of music (the hidden treasure of the soul) with his brother, Jubal.
Stand by the side of Job and behold as the God of all hidden mysteries cometh from the north, clothed in Gold.
Walk with Enoch, take his hand and pass over Zotiel, enter the garden of righteousness.
Behold the past, hear through the ears of Eve, the mother of all living,

Listen when God gives his first promise of the coming Messiah.
See the future unveiled in the storm that follows the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Behold the new world that will arise out of the ashes of the old as a phoenix spreading it´s wings.
Ephphatha!! let the Anointed Master open your ears, "he who has ears let him hear."
Find about all this through the twelve degrees of the Order."

"This is not a world, but a place between worlds and times."

Also the lyrics of the songs seemed odd in a certain way that is hard to explain.

Pantokrator was influenced by the book of enoch which some christians hold as canon. since they have read that book it would not surprise me if they read other kinds of stuff that influenced them. but as for mysticism, well Christianity has a rich tradition of that.

"Bifrost" sounds like some viking stuff. kind of normal to put viking mythology stuff and metal together.

"Havilah" I remember that name, it means something good but I forget what. i think it's hebrew. kind of sounds like ahavah, one of my favorite words.

oh it means:

Havilah (Hebrew: חֲוִילָה‎ Ḥăwîlāh, "Circular"[1]), refers to both a land and people in several books of the Bible.

Interesting. Being renewed in spiritual discernment, it also troubles me.

Well, I know that Bob Daily has been around for a long time. And being that I've never gotten much into Thrash/Speed/Death Metal, other than the band Deliverance back in the early 90s, I don't know much about Bob, other than he has a lot of affiliation with the very hardest of Christian metal bands. If they've got some kind of Christianized fraternity running among them, and they've spruced it up with Fraternity "type" language, it's not something very seriously off the beaten bath, as far as I can tell. They have a Statement of Belief that seems to align with just about any typical Evangelical church, so I wouldn't sweat it much. BUT, some Christian bands are a bit "out there" at times, so if you think the band in question is a bit too esoteric for your liking, then by all means, I support your choice not to listen to them.

My advice is trust the check in your spirit man by the Holy Spirit.Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean to your own understanding.

For in much wisdom is much grief,
And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

When The Holy Spirit shows you things for what they really are and who people really are it's pretty depressing to be perfectly honest.

Yes, this is the problem with so-called Christian music. One foot in and one foot out of the world.

"Try not to worry too much about it"...easier said than done.
"Give all your worries to the Holy Spirit"...easier said than done.
Still, try to bounce your mind to God whenever this unease comes to you. Visualize handing Him your problems. "Draw near to God, and He'll draw near to you." --James 4:8 He'll take care of you; think of this as a trial to build your faith. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers & sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance." --James 1:2-3
Exercise, focus on hobbies, read the Bible, hang out with friends & family....do things to keep your mind off of these troubles. God's got it all in His loving, just hands, and He'll let you know if He wants you to do something about this...maybe He already did by having you post this.
Keep your mind focused on God, read His word, and trust.

Well, send pastor Bob Daily and email and ask him what all that is about, telling him that it's not clear to you what this organization is all about and why Christian metal artist associate with it. Tell him you'd like his opinion because you're concerned and it may affect whether you purchase the albums/songs of those bands that you find affiliated with it. Otherwise, settle for Stryper.

Not very much bands are associated with it, e.g. Demon Hunter. (My favorite band by far. Never released a bad album at all.) Still feeling unsure about the effect it has on my spirit.

Well, if I saw Stryper was associated with some esoteric sounding organization, and being that I love those guys a whole lot, I'd be writing them and asking, "Hey, dudes! What's up with 'dat?!" Fortunately, I don't have to deal with this.

Still, I can understand your ambivalence on this.

Father, I am an old guy, not familiar with this kind of music, but very leery of it and it's relationship to the evil secular version of it. If ChristIsSovereign should be feeling uneasy, let them know that this is a sign/prodding from You. May people not be dupped by deceptive music that is dressed up with religiosity or supposedly "Christian" lyrics. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22. Amen.
