I’m not sure how you think any of that changes the farmers currently losing large amounts of money. Does Trump saying he hopes it changes, or Trump not adding additional tariffs somehow help Joe Farmer in Ohio pay his bills next month when his crops aren’t selling for what they used to?

Maybe it was the candidate who made tax changes that helped 90% of working Americans.

Maybe it was the candidate that saved this middle class family almost 2,000 a year in penalty taxes for not being able to afford healthcare after my private insurance was canceled because it didn’t meet the new criteria

Maybe it was the candidate who brought back manufacturing jobs with his magic wand

Maybe it is the candidate who supports Israel and lead the way in moving our embassy to the capital. Jerusalem

Maybe it’s the candidate who is rebuilding the military

Maybe it’s the candidate who stands in full public support of our first responder including police officers

The political dog whistle of the billionaire coming down the golden escalator just doesn’t fly with many Americans anymore. Our paychecks, our job security and our spending ability disproves the narrative.

That must be why those tax cuts were wildly unpopular, the farmers are taking bad hits and the 9/11 first responders got told they could whistle for any help.

As for Israel, destroying any remaining hope of a peace settlement was just downright stupid, and putting Israel’s interests ahead of the US is just bizarre frankly.

Oh and ‘rebuilding’ the military? Is that a joke? You already had a military bigger than the next 7 countries COMBINED. But yes, the military was clearly an area where you needed to pour more American tax dollars..

What are you talking about? Lots of previous candidates and presidents have run their own businesses and hired people in the private sector.

You said ‘only candidate ever’ which would not just include 2016 by any logical reading.

Even now you’re completely wrong though. Jeb Bush was in the private sector for years running a number of businesses, including being a partner in a large property development company amongst many other roles.

Hillary Clinton was a partner in a law firm. They also hire people strangely enough.

Kasich was a managing director at Lehman Brothers. Christie was a partner in a private law firm. Fiorina was the CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Literally all of them created jobs in the private sector.

I don't get why the Dems don't impeach. The GOP would have impeached Hillary twice, tied her to a stake and burned her as a heretic, buried her in unconsecrated ground and then dug up the bones and crushed them into paste for using an unauthorized server. So, yeah, the Dems should act.

You mean the only candidate who ever created a job in the private sector? That one?

The Trump organization is actually reasonably small. Trump did an excellent job of stiffing contractors though.

Or perhaps the president who reversed most of the business restrictions of the previous administration and it resulted in a record low unemployment rate for everyone, especially minorities

Ummm, unemployment was on the up-swing since the end of the Great Recession. History started before 2016.

I don’t necessarily agree with their reasoning for holding back, but they know the GOP will torpedo impeachment in the senate and then Trump will claim to have been totally exonerated.

Personally I’d impeach anyway, send the message that his crimes are not acceptable behavior for the President of the United States or anyone else, and make the GOP senators vote against the evidence so they can be hit with it when they’re up for re-election.

Jealousy is unbecoming.
And he has kept his promises for the average working Joe.
...Mexico is paying for the wall? She's been locked up? The trade war has been easy to win? Coal is back? The President Trump health care plan is in full swing? None of President Trumps budgets had any cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid?
tulc(is sort of surprised to hear that) :sorry:

Maybe it was the candidate who made tax changes that helped 90% of working Americans.

American taxpayers paid over $90 billion more under Trump tax law

And after refunds, the IRS collected about $93 billion more from individual American taxpayers than it did in 2017. Interestingly, that number stands close to the tax break amount that corporations received from the TCJA in 2018. Last year, big businesses paid $91 billion less in taxes than they had in 2017, prior to the new law’s passage.

Maybe it was the candidate who brought back manufacturing jobs with his magic wand

More layoffs at Indiana factory Trump made deal to keep open - Reuters

More than 200 workers clocked in for their final shifts on Thursday at Carrier Corp. in Indianapolis in the latest round of layoffs at a plant President Donald Trump toured in December 2016 to trumpet a deal to save jobs and prevent its closure.
...
But Carrier also laid off 338 manufacturing workers in July and another 215 this week. Those jobs are going to the company’s plant in Monterrey, Mexico, where workers make about $3 an hour, according to Indiana union officials.

Maybe it’s the candidate who is rebuilding the military

Taking money from them to not build a wall isn't rebuilding much.

The political dog whistle of the billionaire coming down the golden escalator just doesn’t fly with many Americans anymore.

Yeah, I know many people are skeptical he's actually that rich.

Hold off till after the primaries - make the GOP leadership worry what evidence the Judiciary and Intelligence committees have on Donald while they're figuring out whether or not to support him or an alternative candidate.
