  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My letter to Nancy Pelosi - would you join me in sending one yourself.

I don't know, trying to impeach trump and letting the senate hang thselves by refusing if we get enough on him should be fun.
And why fun? Are we to take delight in the downfall of another? Didn't Nancy Pelosi even say she prays for the President and tells others not to be happy about what they're doing but treat it as a somber event?

I also believe that goes the other way too that if there were things of which warranted as they say, "Lock Hillary Up" or some other Dem politician none of that should be said or thought of in some gleeful way of laughter or fun either, but maybe that's just me....other can think what they want.

Special Counsel Mueller with 19 seasoned prosecutors, dozens of highly trained Special Agents and all the power of the Special Counsel's office just finished 22 months of investigation.
Yeah, the Mueller Report was initiated by assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, so this falls at the feet of the head of the Executive Branch.

You seem convinced that Pelosi is the reason the legislation is stalled... any reason for that?
That means she should be disqualified from being a part of any impeachment procedure.

Why?
There’s no Constitutional reason.

You’re afraid that Pelosi is HUNGRY for the Presidency?

Please!

No, there is a conflict of interest and she should be disqualified. Nothing is going to come out of any of this. It is just something for them to waste their time on.

What makes you think that USMCA is bipartisan and would easily pass without negotiations?

I didn't say it would pass without negotiations - that is something you said. But as for bipartisan support

Trump: USMCA should pass with bipartisan support

It’s no wonder why the USMCA has earned broad support from across North Carolina and the rest of the country, and why the deal would be approved by the Senate with overwhelmingly bipartisan support.

I asked because that's what they're doing now - negotiating over its terms:
Pelosi says 'moving ahead' on trade deal; Mexico optimistic

So... a comment from Trump and an op-ed from a Republican senator? Wouldn't better evidence for your claim of bipartisanship include a statement from somebody from the other party?

No matching letter to Mitch McConnell?

Good point! I'm a little confused on account of how the fellow who started the thread told you that it was off the topic, to start a new one. Now to me, seeing as how the OP is about wanting Pelosi to get a move on with Donald's impeachment, this fits into it. But he seemed to really want to be a stickler for staying within the OP itself. Now he's talking about USMCA? Huh.

Just using a bit of Jacobian English for emphasis.

Jacobian English in tandem with the interjection of USMCA into the discussion makes me think of "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet," and this Canadian editorial from last year a NAFTA deal by any other name ...

Your exchange also brought memories of one of my childhood Sunday school classes and how a kid had been so astonished to learn that people in the Bible did not actually talk as they seem to in the King James Version. Since that version "sounds so old" and was what his grandmother preferred, he just assumed it was the original language. He was like 8, so it was endearing.
