I beg your pardon? Please don't falsely accuse me. I am not trying to bend Genesis to fit my theories, but to understand Genesis as God intended it to be understood. I am not sure that God intended it to be seen as a literal 7 days 4,000 years ago at all. I believe in creation, and I believe that God created everything, but I am not a PhD in Hebrew, nor a PhD in Biology. As a result, I must plead ignorance as to whether Genesis 1 is literal, majestic prose, analogy, stylized polemic or some other genre of literature. I must also plead ignorance on whether or not carbon dating is faked or really true and a whole host of other biological data which make fundamentalist Christians a laughing stock of real scientists.
 We have something we can agree on!!!

Which Jesus Christ?

All of the "versions" I cited were all taught by groups claiming to have arrived at their conclussion from the bible. Are they all correct? At least one of them is wrong. Which one is it? Is it your version? How do you know that your understanding of Jesus is correct?
which christ do you believe in?

Several have suggested that I am a rebel by not kowtowing to their tradition or particular denominational views. However, I am tired of control freaks telling me that I must kowtow to their rules, when all I'm interested in are Jesus' rules.

That's why I dream of a church where winebibbers can take communion with grape juicers, transubstantiaters can fellowship with symbolizers, immersionists can be baptized along side of sprinklers and pourers, 6-day creationists can fellowship with gap theorists and other forms of old-earth creationists, leaveners can partake of Christ's body along side of unleaveners, and Protestants and Catholics can partake of the Eucharist together.

I am tired of the Church of Men and their rules which cause division. Neither Jesus nor the Apostles made any such rules, and they criticized those who did.

The one taught by the Catholic Church and professed in the Nicene Creed.
In my view that is a sad answer.

I believe in the Christ of the Bible. Not of this church or that and not by any creed.

Arius believed in the Christ in the bible too. Unfortunately, the Christ he believed in is not the one professed by the Apostles.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe in the Christ of the bible, but it is not the Christ professed by the Apostles.

Mormons believe in the Christ of the bible, but it is not the Christ professed by the Apostles.

I believe in the Christ as described in the bible, as professed by the Apostles and as set forth in the Nicene Creed.

So, you want The First Church of McChristianity with onion rings and a diet Coke.

Each example you gave has been distorted by a person's view not what the Word says.

Including yours....

No, that could be said of just about every single denomination on earth. I am simply tired of having my faith abused by people shoving theirs down my throat. If I go to certain churches, I am not asked how I would like to worship God. I am simply told this is how we do it, take it or leave it. So, people try to squeeze you into their denominational box, rather than serve you where you are. I dream of a church that serves people according to their faith on lesser issues, and emphasizes unity on the important issues i.e. the commands of Christ, not the commands of men.
