Fundamentalists always claim that they have a special communication with God, and anybody who disagrees with them must lack it.

Either that, or we have a special communique from God: Genesis 1.

Fundamentalists hold to THE FOUNDATION

A quote:
"In recent years the point in which 'conflict' between scripture and science is most frequently urged is the apparent contrariety of the theory of evolution to the Bible story of the direct creation of the and animals and man. This might be met, and often is, as happened in the previous cases, by denying the reality of any evolutionary process in nature. Here also, however, while it must be conceded that evolution is not yet proved, there seems a growing appreciation of the strength of the evidence for the fact of some form of evolutionary origin of species - that is, some form of genetic connection of higher with lower forms."

Do you know where that quotation comes from? Then I will tell you. It comes from that inestimable publication of the early twentieth century, The Fundamentals.

According to TE philosophy, isn't Jesus a Mangani?

And if you disagree, perhaps you can tell me why He isn't?

He was a human being, and therefore one of the great apes, just like you and me.

The Fundamentals is a Protestant document -- that says it all.

Yes it did, and the person who wrote the above quoted passage agrees with me. Maybe you are going to tear up your membership card of the Fundamentalists Mutual Admiration Society now.

I get it. You are a Catholic now.
I am an independent fundamental Baptist.

And I believe in the six fundamentals as taught by Curtis Hutson:
  1. verbal plenary inspiration
  2. virgin birth
  3. deity of Christ
  4. vicarious sacrifice
  5. burial and resurrection
  6. Second Coming
They are called "fundamentals," because they are crucial to salvation.

If any six are wrong, salvation can't occur, and we are still in our sins.

If I remember correctly, EVANGELICALS don't believe in #1, but do believe in 2-6; and MODERNISTS don't believe in #1 or #6 (?).

I doubt if your nice neat categorisation could be made to work.

Um ... you left an important word out. On purpose?

In context it is irrelevant. Fundamentalists get their name from The Fundamentals.

Also, Independent Baptist is a contradiction in terms. Baptists are a denomination. Therefore, if you are independent of it, you are, by definition, not a Baptist.

Work? as in being accepted by all denominations?

Not even Jesus ruling and reigning on the earth for 1000 years is going to make it all work.

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Some people just have a head start.
