I was lazy and didn't bother to find out the facts? I needed to believe because I could not handle life if I found out there was no God? it would mean that if I'm wrong I have devoted my whole life to a scam and wasted so much of my money on a lie.
I won't find out if there is a God until after I die and by then it will be too late to do anything about it, never mind I won't be worried because I will be dead anyway and I won't be feeling anything.

Or as they say in the UK, you were tucked up, they fed you a line and you fell for it.
