My father is an idiot. I hate him, and its horrible infact I stopped talking to him for 9 months because hes hurt me, emotionally, hes put me under so much pressure and Lied and munipulated my family.

At soul survivor I asked God to help me forgive him and he did! I got to forgive him. Then he dissapointed me again by cancelling on me. he never lives through to his promises and it hurts. after everything hes done I cant cope with him anymore, I feel bullyed by him. I know God wants us to forgive, but he dosent want us to be abused either, he abuses me, emotionally...

You need to separate him and what I mean is that it is not him but the sin in him that Paul talks about in Romans 7:15-21. If you can separate him and hate his sin but still love him, then you will be able to walk in forgiveness. Otherwise, God's word is very strong. He says if you do not forgive, He will not forgive you. You separate yourself from him. Then torment comes.

It is not always easy to love those who hurt us. Also, drop all expectations off of him. Plus, the word says to loves those who hurt, persecute, etc. because great is our reward in heaven. It is always easy to love those who love us.

Separate him and continually forgive him every time he does hurt you. Lay down the expectations and not expect anything from him and then be surprised when he does do something right.

Lord, help our sister as she struggles with forgiving her father. Lord, let her see that You are her true Father, who will never dissappoint her, who will never lie to her, and who loves her with a love unimaginable love. Father, we all make mistakes. Let her see that her father is human. Let her find peace with this situation. Lord, You have asked us to love, let her love her father, enable her to see the man that You created, not the man that he is choosing to be. Father, as she makes the efforts to forgive, give her the strength and the wisdom that she needs to either further the relationship, or to let it go. Speak Your wisdom into her heart as she cries out to You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
