Here is a project I did in just a few days. It was fun to make but I don't really like the shape.

I'm going to ask the man who wrote the pattern of this is how it was supposed to turn out.

I do like the yarn though. It's soft.

The more I look at it BJ...the more I like it. It is a rather different shape, but it's growing on me. The colour is awesome. Good job.

Oh, yes, I love the color and the plush yarn. At my crochet forum I've had 6 other people tell me that they made one and it turned out to be the same shape. I haven't decided whether I'm going to use it or donate it to our craft sale.

Hmm...choices, eh? Well, if you do donate it for the craft sale, you can always make yourself another one later if you decide you want one of your own.

On my crochet forum the designer of the pattern told me I had done a great job so obviously that is how it is supposed to look.

So far my favorite is the flag Barb. That turned out great! They all did.

I have a picture of myself when I was a little girl in a little poncho my mom made me. I'll have to find it and post it in here. She still crochets all the time...just made a ton of slippers for everyone. I'll take a pic of them too and post it.

Here is my first afghan made with scrap yarn. Its very colorful, huh? I'm mailing it today to a lady on my crochet forum who is collecting them to give to patients in a hospital for people with severe head injuries.

That's awesome BJ...nice job! What a wonderful way to share. A client of mine crochets baby blankets that she sends to the hospital for newborns.

I get a lot of questions on my method of motif joining so I'm posting a crop of the afghan which better shows how they are joined.

I would certainly like to take credit for this joining method but I cannot. I learned this technique on a previous afghan and have used it several times since for joining. If you would like to try this method I suggest that you take a look at the Prairie Star Afghan pattern. That's how I learned it. You can view or download the Prairie Star pattern here for free.

Hello! I visit a forum for crochet. There is a section there for people display photos of their work. Look here because I know that several of them have made shrugs. There will usually be discussions on the project. The person who made it will tell you how easy it was to do, what they would change about it, etc.

I've made a poncho but not a shrug but I know there are a lot of patterns available for free on the Internet.

I am so excited about my newest project. I have a friend who has just learned that she is expecting her first baby. I want to make something for the baby so looked through all of my patterns for something. It didn't take me long to decide on this even though it's actually an afghan and not a baby blanket. But I think it will be perfect. I am enjoying it so much! This is definitely going to be one of my favorite projects.

So here's a picture - remember it's a work in progress, just started it last evening.

It will be 12 squares by 9 squares. You can't see it but I already have 12 done in the first row.

Could you post the pattern for this? I love it!

Aw, I'm sorry. I can't. It's copyrighted. But the pattern book is reasonably inexpensive. It's by Leisure Arts and called Our Best Afghans A-Z. I saw that it was still available at Wal*Mart recently. Or you can usually find it on ebay.

anyone have any simple patterns for baby blankets? I am wanting to start doing projects for a group in my area that makes blankets and things for premies.
