You think this world is a disaster or you do not.

And I'll say it again.

I'm posting as if this world is a PRODUCT of a disaster.

One that occurred in 13,800,000,000 BC when, for some inexplicable reason, the status quo of a tiny atom got upset by a natural disaster.

Once upon a time the only thing in the universe was a Primordial Atom.

In fact, the Primordial Atom was the universe.

Then a universal natural disaster occurred.

The Primordial Atom expanded.

To its horror, its diameter increased and increased and increased, as it spilled its guts out.

Growing fatter and fatter and fatter with each passing day.

Then, billions of years later, life appeared in one of its tiny quadrants.

Stop this! said the Atom! What's happening to me!?

He kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger, as the life that was now on him began to die and decay, along with the rest of the Atom.

Eventually, the Atom itself died.

Frozen to death by thermal equilibrium.

The End :(

So you are making up a bizarre mythology that no one believes as a justification for applying a negative label to a version of history that you disagree with.

That's incredibly silly.

How much of that story DO you believe though, Shemjaza?

Do you believe that, at one time, the universe existed as a Primordial Atom (for lack of a better term)?

If you don't, do you believe that that is what was taught at one time?

I would just like to take a moment to thank the designers of this forum for including the option to unwatch specific threads.

That's why it's a challenge thread, Brad.

It is a thought-provoking mental exercise that makes you see science from a perspective that you probably have never considered before.

From the perspective of ignorance you are spot on.

I believe the universe was vastly denser than it became during the Big Bang, but applying personality, life and priority to something that is unknown and possibly unknowable is ridiculous.

If you want to describe the universe itself as a disaster because it and everything in it will eventually "die", then I guess I can see the justification, but describing the beginning changes as a disaster because some hypothetical something from before could be interpreted as being destroyed by the process is unjustified.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion.

Some see the Grand Canyon as a beautiful geological phenomenon; others see it as a terrible crack in the earth, caused by sin.

It's not really a challenge though. It is thought provoking, I will say that, but in the way of "Why does AV give such a care about something only he thinks about?"

The amount of thought, and how seriously you want to take it, is totally up to you.

You'll get out of it what you put into it.

And, anytime someone stays interactive for 152 posts, I'd argue they're challenged in some way.
