ok - think I have this new format figured....

I click on the "quote+" changing it to "quote-" for one nor more posts I want to quote

THEN I hit "reply" in the last (or only) post I want quoted

This bumps you down to the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the page - which WILL be empty

click on "Go Advanced" and you will go to the advanced edit box and the quoted posts will be displayed

Whew! :D

testing #5

going to advanced:

The following appears below the window:

You have selected 5 post(s) that are not part of this thread. Quote these posts as well, or deselect these posts.

Selecting [quote these posts as well]

Then these quotes appear:

He desribes a lot of the symptoms of what a lot of posters here call convertitis (Although I prefer i prefer Convertosis, because an -itis is an inflammation) ;)

my comments .... how did this get in here?

There has been some mention of canons of the Church regarding iconography. Could someone post those, or at least a link?

The Reader Peter

comments.....

I visited a Catholic Church / Center of Conferences and in their Shop there was plenty of EO icons....

So I would say that since icons are not a Sacrament, we can use Catholic icons provided that the saint there is recognised by the EO Church plus all other necessary elements to make the work an ICON.

Other opinions ?

Or Metropolitan Chrysostomos, who was ordered to hand over a list of all the Jews he knew of so that they could be given to the Nazis. He refused. The demands got stronger. He finally wrote something down on a piece of paper, threw it at the guy, and screamed, "Here's your Jew!" On the paper was his own name.

(there's a display about this story right in the Holocaust museum in DC, or at least there was in 2002.)

LK

Okay, these were quoted in another forum as test that didn't work.

Will these be quoted again in another post I make, or will they be unquoted in the next post?

The same quotes appear ... so I guess I have to go to TAW and unselect all those quotes.

The quote I selected here at CF Support are not displayed.

Click on this: in a post you want to quote and it will turn to this: -> you can do this FOR ANY POST, even in a DIFFERENT THREAD OR FORUM - go to ANOTHER THREAD and FORUM and do the same. When you press this:

ALL your quotes FROM DIFFERENT THREADS AND FORUMS will be quoted!

Okay, I followed the instruction in Erwin's OP

but only one quote appears, not both.

Posts #43 and 44 were both selected and the quote box changed colors.

However, only the LAST post selected appears as before.

I selected [reply] as Erwin suggested and then went down to the reply box to type in my message.

Strange, I don't show a [post reply] button as Erwin displayed.

My button only reads [reply] in the post itself or [post quick reply] down at the bottom of the page.

Remember that I have linux/mozilla.

Okay, now to see if the quotes from CF Support appear now that I have deselected all the previously selected quotes.

Here goes.

Nope.

This is a pain. I prefer the other way.

testing again - the last time it didn't work at all.

Ok - it works and I think what I and others have been having trouble with - it is the button!! I had NO idea where this was, didn't remember ever seeing it and have never used it!!

IF you are having trouble finding it too - listen up :D

At the bottom of every thread page there is the "quick reply" box - ok no surprise - LOL BUT.....

JUST above that "quick reply" box and to the far left is the button - THIS is the button you click after selecting one or several posts to quote!!

Hurray! It immediately takes you to an advanced edit box where the quoted posts are for your convenience!!

Try it it REALLY DOES work :)

was it figured out why numbers appear after the names of the persons quoted?

I'm not seeing the multi-quote buttons today.Where'd they go?
I also could not get the quote button to work on my last post.

I love the feature! But I liked it better when there was the regular quote button with the little multi-quote one next to it...especially when you just want to quote one post.

I was wondering the same thing when I tried to use the "quote" button and it wouldn't direct me to a "reply" window with the quote.

I really liked it when we could tag all the posts we wanted to quote and then click on the "quote" button when we were done.

ahh ok, glad I lood here before going to the report bug section :D

It's not a bug, it's a feature :D :D

THANKS HENAYNEI
for your post below.
This has been a tremendous help.
I didn't see that new button.
Guess I am used to seeing all the buttons on the right side, not the left.
he he.

NOW I see the light.

A new button for us to play with.

Thanks, Henaynei
