CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bannon has to testify first, wonder what he will talk about. The White House telling him not to say anything in a 10 hour interview in a Congressional review. Let's see how this works in front of a grand jury and I'm sure the special prosecuter will be better prepared to sopenas the President. That's where it's always been going anyway.

You know, I thought that expression was nonsensical when it was used in defense of Clinton, and doubly so now.
The best way to avoid a "perjury trap" is to not commit perjury, i.e., just tell the truth. Clinton didn't, and Donald's incapable of it.

We all knew Trump would have to talk to Mueller, get him under oath. Let's not count him out so easy, he has dodged some pretty precarious situations before. Unless this comes down to money laundering or something like that I think he can weather this one, but I do get his lawyers concerns. For once in his life he should do what everyone else has to do, listen carefully to what his lawyers tell him, no fifth amendment and no truthful hyperbole...

Someone like Mueller, could likely get an innocent person to say false things.
Trump will never talk with Mueller directly and no lawyer worth anything would allow him to. Whether a president has something to hide or not, it is too easy to get tripped up and say something wrong, because Mueller has far greater knowledge of the overall, than Trump does. When you factor in the stupid stuff Trump says, this risk goes up 10 fold with him.

Indeed -- given the choice between letting Donald carry out his boast to sit down with Mueller (on the record and under oath), or actually physically stapling Donald's mouth shut, any halfway competent attorney is going to reach for the staplegun.
