I don't even entertain the discussion with race. To me it's like arranging deckchairs on the Titanic.
When people talk about race things like 'white privilege' I see that I could easily redirect the conversation to God and just tell them that the only privilege I'm worried about is having the privilege of being a child of God (and have an opportunity to witness). I'd imagine most people that want to vent and bicker about skin color would immediately understand that their argument won't even apply to the message of Jesus. It'll fall flat everytime.

If it would not work for adultery, it won't work for racism either.
It does not help to compare apples and oranges. Talk about racism today is a DIVERSIONARY TACTIC. The more people talk about racism, the less they see that this is another manufactured problem since racism has been on the decline for decades, and numerous high public offices have been held by blacks (strictly on merit) for decades. Blacks have also prospered in other fields. The fact that totally unqualified Obama managed to snag the highest office in the land is proof positive that this is a manufactured problem, which helps Obama divert attention from the real issues -- his own disregard for his black brethren and sisters as well as for the citizens of the USA.

The purpose of this thread is to propse solutions because there's on obvious issue, atleaat here in America...and it cant be denied. We have to be able to live together in harmony which is why I created this thread to bounce ideas on how to bring this about... Rather than everyone vent their frustrations and get mad..which leads to nothing.

Of course the most basic thing any and everyone can do is simply treat those you run into every day with respect and decency.

African Americans should be given their own self governing autonomous region.
A country within a country.Of course relocating there would optional and those living in those states selected of other races would need to be relocated.
Lol no. What you want is to reinstate segregation... I dont think that's a good idea at all... How can you love people you cant come in contact with? And cutting people off will make them feel isolated from the whole of humanity...and as I said before , I enjoy the different faces and races I see. So I dont think that's a productive idea.

I dont think its a weak argument , how can you have a revelation without understanding ? Plus what you're saying is part of what I mean.

People are going to continue killing people because we have devalued the worth of people. This started with Roe Vs. Wade and will continue until we repent (change our thinking) about differences of race, and see people as God see them - "crowned with glory and honor" (Ps. 8:5). The problem is: most of America and the world has forsaken God, gives no value to what the Bible says, and thinks we're going to figure this mess out with our peanut brains. Good luck with that theory!

I agree with this. Repenting for how we view other people, that was powerful.

What did God give us a brain for if not to figure things out?

Good questions all. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I may need to spend time preparing a suitable reply, though. I've been busy, and may not get right to it.

Stop all race baiting...
That is a right wing buzz word that has no real meaning. I'm sure the "race baiting" will stop when the "racism" stops

I cannot agree with that. The race baiting goes on where there is no racism demonstrated. It makes people think they need to change someone's mind, and they need Obama, Hillary, or Jesse Jackson to accomplish that.

Jesse Jackson was a freedom rider, a sit-in and civil rights protest organizer. Hardly a "race baiter" he knows when he sees racism. I'll give you Obama and Hillary are politicians and exploit every opportunity to grab headlines but that does not mean they just make stuff up all the time

I am sure you are discussing forced segregation we had 65 to 100 years ago. There are some merits to having some segregation, and the integration that took place made things worse. In specific stressful and demanding situations (military units, etc.,) there is reason the think that groups that share things like race or other things may work better together. It is hard to argue against the success of elite military units, but those people went through things together that other (few or no others) had endured. Otherwise, it is reasonable to assume problems may be avoided if things were kept segregated. I do not intend that to mean segregated in order to treat the units differently, but that the people (especially when there was a mandatory draft) got along better in that type environment.

Sorry to have to say it, but, regardless of whether he was known for that many years ago or not, more recently (20 or more years) he has used race as a mechanism to enrich himself. He and others fan the flames of any racial divide, and use that to shakedown companies over imagined infractions. More on this as I get some time. I have a difficult day tomorrow!

Seen an article today about how Chicogo just came through their most violent summer ever. One interesting statistic stood out, even though blacks are only 1\3 of the population 4\5 of the victims of violent crime are black. What's going on here? The article suggests a defacto segregation since whites left the worst areas long ago. The situation in Fergason, before the shooting of a child with a toy gun, is often described in simular terms.

Taking a cursory glance at the New Testament the fact is, there is no difference between slave and free, Jew or Gentile, scholar or illiterate, rich or poor, it follows, there is no difference between black and white. Believe it or not just over a hundred years ago the COGIC church on Azuza street in LA had the solution. Whites and blacks worshiped together at a time when No one did this. In 1915 at Hot Spring Arkansas white members left to form the assemblies of God. A Christian revival ripe with promise failed to resolve the racial divide.

Eric Holder called America an apartide because whites and blacks don't socialize away from work. In a place where we celebrate freedom and justice where the church has flourished from sea to see, we still can't figure out what God made obvious 2000 years ago. Martin Luther King famously said he had s dream that people would be judged by the content of there character instead of the color of their skin. I would submit to you that the good reverend had it backwards. That's not the dream that's the reality the dream, the delusion is that there is a dividing line in the first place. As the Scriptures say, there is no difference.

Grace and peace,
Mark

If a company is employing racist hiring orpromotion practices, they should be called out for it. I don't believe Jesse Jackson is going into situations and falsely making claims of discrimination. People who are not the victims of discrimination do not know what it feels like.
