No, i get it. The defense contractors want more money and this botched withdrawal gives them an excuse to produce all the hardware and vehicles and whatnot that's been abandoned in Afghanistan.
Ah, so it was a decision that the boots on the ground made because the defence contractors leant on them. Curse the Industrial Military Complex!

I mean, they could have flown those choppers out if only you'd been able to contact General McKenzie in time.

We’re too nice and don’t lock-up enough of the correct people?
We’re about 6th in all the world for the rate at which we lock people away…how is that “soft of crime”?
We have an anti-religious culture that promotes juvenile crime, so we have more violent criminals. Parents are not taking proper care of their kids, absentee fathers being the largest problem:

"But if we are honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that what too many fathers also are is missing — missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it."

That statement isn't even worthy of a reply. It's fatuous to the point of being meaningless.
Parents are not taking proper care of their kids, absentee fathers being the largest problem:
That's something worth discussing. And I don't think that anyone could disagree with Obama's comment below. In that single parent families, when that situation is forced upon, generally, the woman, because some guy wanted out and didn't want to take responsibility for what's happened. But don't go anywhere near the divorce rates.

Maybe “too many fathers are missing” because we’ve locked them up?
Nah! It can’t be the fault of “the system“, it must be some sort of character flaw in certain groups of people, yeah, that’s it!

Deporting them doesn’t mean you don’t care about them as human beings.
What about DACA kids? Let's deport them to a country they left as infants, to a culture they don't know and a language they don't speak and with incomplete educational qualifications.

That doesn’t mean we don’t treat them as human.

If we were to not treat them as human, we would just call them a clump of cells and abort them in the womb.

Or, call them vermin or tell people They’re poisoning the blood of our country. That’s what they’ve done,”

"Former President Trump's new description of his political enemies as "vermin" — and his vow to "root out" what he called "the threat from within" — has drawn outrage from Democrats, warnings from historians and silence from Republicans."

Now you’re moving the goalpost. I’m talking about deportations specifically.

No goalposts moved by me. You wrote "If we were to not treat them as human, we would just call them a clump of cells and abort them in the womb." Rightists use dehumanizing rhetoric against undocumented people, liberal people, women or anybody who they want to dehumanize at any given point.

Maybe you should think twice about comparing undocumented people to abortions.

No, “dehumanizing language”, is just a whiny point made a when calling out illegals immigrants. The pope himself has whined about the phrase “illegal immigrants.”

Do you think it’s actually possible to deport them all?
No. Strict enforcement of laws against the use of illegal labor would make most self deport as economic migrants move on when the economic motivation of removed but that's not in the cards.

So therefore we should deport them. We should aim to do the best job possible even if 100% isn’t possible.

Who’s making all of the money that it takes to deport undocumented people?

Some show deportations may happen should the former president regain power but he’s not going to threaten the illegal labor supply. US business owners are too addicted to it.

They can barely keep growing, year-after-year, eking out barely enough to pay the dividends on their stocks (and some nice perks for the Carpeted Area staff), they need the cheapest labor that they can find.

And so, they do.
Capitalism requires a permanent underclass, though it’s allowed to “switch” from German immigrants to Irish immigrants, to Italian immigrants to Eastern European immigrants and now it’s people from our own hemisphere, who we’ve “protected*” from the Europeans since the early nineteenth century.

We’re “allowed” to futz with their countries but they can’t come live in ours?

No wonder we’re hated.
