Bad News for the Big Bang: Secular Scientists Claim Universe Shouldn’t Exist

As previously reported, scientists in Europe announced in 2012 that they had detected the Higgs boson, then confirmed their findings last year. The Higgs boson, also known as “the God particle,” was widely heralded as a key to understanding the origins of the universe.

However, in a major setback to the secular Big Bang theory, scientists with King’s College in London announced this month that Higgs boson physics cannot account for the universe’s existence. The scientists came to this conclusion after modeling the hypothetical conditions of the universe immediately after the Big Bang.

“During the early universe, we expected cosmic inflation—this is a rapid expansion of the universe right after the Big Bang,” Robert Hogan, a physicist with King’s College, told LiveScience. “This expansion causes lots of stuff to shake around.”

Hogan plans to share his findings today at the Royal Astronomical Society meeting in Portsmouth, England. Meanwhile, some suggest that these findings are evidence that the Big Bang theory is a flawed model which cannot account for the origin of the universe.

“Of course another possibility is a creative designer,” one online commenter succinctly noted.

Dr. Danny Faulkner, an astronomer with Answers in Genesis, says the Big Bang theory has repeatedly conflicted with observational evidence.

PSA: The Big Bang, Evolution and other things that are commonly misunderstood.

Hello everybody, searching through this forums, and speaking to people in general, I've noticed a trend on both sides of many debates as to people not fully understanding exactly what is being debated on either side.
So, I'm posting this to attempt to remedy some common misconceptions about various topics.

Let's begin:

The Big Bang.

First and foremost, the one that seems to be misconstrued most of all, the famous, or perhaps infamous to some, 'Big Bang' theory.
This is usually used as, or seen as either an alternative for, or an argument against, the idea of the universe being created by God.
However, the truth is very diferent. The Big Bang theory is the idea that space is expanding (which we can observe happening) and therefor we can draw the conclusion that, the further back in time you go, the more dense and hot space is.
What's important about this distinction is four things:
-The Big Bang is NOT an explosion.
-The Big Bang is still happening.
-The Big Bang has -NOTHING- to do with the ultimate creation of the universe.
-The Big Bang does not entail anything to do with the creation of matter or energy.

But then I'm not a scientist, so maybe that strategy is commonplace among the ... well ... educated.

Often simple questions have complex answers.

Just because you can't distill a fact into a 5-second sound bite doesn't mean it's not true. Or, to be a little harsher, just because you don't understand the explanation behind something doesn't mean that it's not a valid explanation.

There really is no need for Christians to get into these "science bashing" threads.

As long as one assumes that we were placed here for a purpose, not just to occupy space, God us free to employ whatever timelines and mechanisms He wishes.

We can prefer to believe that God created the world in 7 literal days, but His existance is not diminished if it was the result of evolutionary processes that occured over 4 billion years.

In the 4d universe, this produces a 3d surface that has no center of expansion just as there is no center of expansion on the 2d surface of a balloon as it is being inflated.



It is no wonder why you don't understand the answers that have been given to your questions.

There is also no "center" of expansion in a torus (quaternion, 4d space-time). The entire tube is expanding at once. No centrality of galactic motion or distribution. No "big bang point"

Exactly what we find when we look out there.

That's the thing; if God's word isn't pure then there is no God. That the gospel, his word, purpose is to give us absolute pure truth. And this is at war with the wisdom of the world; who you going to believe God or your lying eyes.
