Obama took over economy on brink of disaster and created the five year record breaking upward economic trend all while increasing protection on environment.

Trump took over record breaking economy and just to keep equal with Obama Trump has had to -

- give trillion dollar deficit increasing tax cut to richest of Americans.

- dispose of clean water.

- dispose of clean air.

This certainly gives spotlight on how much better Obama was as leader of your country.

Allowing states flexibility in imposing emissions rules is essential to balance affordability & reliability of power supply, as well as ensuring workers are not unduly punished.

The demise of coal is due to cheap natural gas from new fracking technology that has improved each year. Obama did not do this. Trump did not do this. Natural gas generated electricity is cleaner and cheaper than coal fired plants on average. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/natural-gas-coal-future/

Onshore wind and solar cell prices have been dropping too. This is good as coal, petroleum and natural gas are being depleted.

The Obama Clean Air Plan was never implemented, so it's difficult to blame coal closures on increased regulation. Also I really don't get this obsession with the coal industry.

I agree.

But Trump has been giving away much to corporations and richest Americans to keep trend going. What happens when Trump has nothing left for the give away?

Yes the economy has changed. Coal jobs are of the past. Manufacturing jobs are moving to third world. It is not worth giving up clean air and clean water to keep the outdated jobs. It is pay now or pay later.

Obama understood this. Trump does not.
