Greetings!

Former Montana resident here. I lived in Missoula for a few years not too long ago. Spent some time studying at the U of MT and a lot of time loving the mountains!

During that time there was nothing better, in my opinion, than hiking up into the Bitterroots from any number of the trailheads in the Bitterroot Valley. Purely wonderful memories of Montana I'll always have. And should I choose to make a permanent home in the Lower 48, either down in the Bitterroot Valley towards Hamilton or up near Flathead Lake would be near the top of my list!

Adios, God Bless

That's a gorgeous pic, and even though there's not a lot in it, it still says a lot about eastern Montana. Wow... I can totally appreciate every centimeter of that and i'm longing to be out there right now! Normally I love the mountains, being near the ocean right now, temporarily but for awhile, is almost draining the life out of me.... but I have relatives with quite a farm in central South Dakota, which in many ways isn't too much different from eastern Montana, and I recall many nights just sitting out with a beer at the end of the work day looking out over the fields and feeling so at peace. Many scenes around were just like what's in your picture. Life's funny sometimes and it's interesting how a simple pic like above, a pic that might mean almost nothing to many people, can really get a mind working. Thanks for posting it!

God Bless!

The snow probably helped too.

Just under a month til general season. Plus the gun and antique show this weekend in G.F.
Rifle season for antelope starts next Sunday. I suppose I should get my .06 out and make sure it is sighted in.

I'm supposed to meet one of the guys from church Thursday evening to check sights. I'll be running a swab through the .243 today or tomorrow.

I missed the GF gun show this weekend...I was thinking about trading for a 7mm.

I made it out the last Saturday of antelope season and got a small buck and a doe. Now I have to try to find some time to go looking for a deer or two, or three, or however many tags I have.

Have you had any luck?

I went up to Kings Hill 2 Saturdays ago. We saw a lot of tracks (deer and elk) but no luck. We didn't see any critters until the sun was setting and they were in the trees...no clear shot.

I'm leaving Thursday to go towards the Front and will be coming back Sunday. It's a mini- mens retreat/outreach with 10-12 guys. Should be fun regardless of whether or not we get anything.

Yep it's over. I got a 4x3 muley buck last Friday. He was decent sized. I got about 65 lbs of meat out of him...15 lbs being made into breakfast sausage.

I ended up eating my whitetail doe tag, elk tag, and 3 surplus muley doe tags. Ohh well.

How'd you get tags for two WT does and the muley buck?

Region 7 allows for two doe tags for mule deer and two doe tags for white tail on top of your either sex tag. I also ate my elk tag and two mule deer doe tags.

I hit Walmart the other day and found some great clearance items on hunting supplies. I should now have enough hunter orange in my pickup to outfit anybody that is riding with me. Also got an electronic preditor call. I might try it out, shooting with my camera :) I'd love to be able to call in a bobcat and get some good pictures
