Better question is why did Muhammed have sex with a watermellon: http://arabic.islamicweb.com/Books/Taimiya.asp?book=64&id=888

Um, no mention of any action of the Prophet in here, other then a hadith not related to any watermelon.

The commentary is merely describing a way one can m*sterbate if they are not married.

I believe this comes from a book by Ibn Tamiyyah, who is most certainly NOT the Prophet (saws).

Try reading the whole thing and not just that page. It surely is Muhammed "masturbating" (as you put it) a watermellon.

My arabic reading is slow, would you care to point me towards the exact page, so it doesn't take me all year to find it?

I revere Prophet Muhammad for His life and what He accomplished... He was not an "evil man". His fairness and equity were legendary even before He recieved His Mission.

It is largely due to centuries of entrenched prejudice and ignorance that people in the West feel the way they do... They have largely been told lies and calumnies.

Ibn Ishaq's Life of Muhammad written in the eighth century is available in English.
