Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

Right and if you read the article, you'd learn they passed on hiring qualified candidates because they are white men.

Race is not supposed to be a factor in hiring. That's racial discrimination.
If a business has one opening and 20 qualified applicants that means 19 will not get the job.

That is math not discriminatoin
Deprioritizing and "not giving advantage" are not the same thing.
to priortize means to designate or treat something as more important or valuable than other things. So to depriortize is to stop teating that something, in htis case white men, as more valuable.
If you were hiring people and you gave no consideration to race as you're supposed to....then telling you to deprioritize white men is the same as telling you to consider them last, if at all.
If they were giving priority to hiring white men then being told to stop that would mean that race would be given no consideration in hiring, as it should be
They haven't lost an advantage, they're just being discriminated against.
They are being discriminate against because they aren't being given special priority? ^_^
How about instead of trying to play semantic word games you just go ahead and say you support racial discrimination towards white men. You wouldn't make these rationalizations if this were done to any other group.

Of course i would and I'm sure you know that.

How many would get into Harvard without affirmative action?
Because black people couldn't possibly qualify?

This year's freshman class of Harvard has 275 black students. 30 of those students were admitted even though they did not technically meet Harvard's base line criteria in grades and standardized testing Ref: Harvard admission statistics IE through afirmative action.

at the same time 43% of Harvard's white students did not technically meet Harvard's base line criteria in grades and standardized testing. Instead relying on family connections and private donations to gain admission

Funny. You gave yourself away with
"Implying". You see what you want to
see implied.
You choose to see what isn't there.
If I believed as you say, I'd argue for
it, not deny it.
You are being quite insulting to claim
I meant what you made up, the words
you put in my mouth.
Then you double down with the insult
that I'm trying to weasel out of my
own words.
This speaks ill of you, not of me.
I keep asking you to deny this is what you meant but your only response is to engage in personal attacks.

It's a very shabby tactic.
So is dodging a question.
Does that include the questions you dodged:
Are you suggesting that black people do not go to qualified school?
and
Are you saying that black people can't have good grades?

No. You made it up that implied those things.
As unworthy of direct response as if I asked
if your posts are all wtieen while you smoke
dope.

I said "it's not there" and your
personal attacks, claiming I said
things I did not fully justify my
observation about your habit of
reading into others posts things that are
not there. As noted, that only says something
about you.

Deprioritize, as in stop favoring white men in hiring. How is not giving priority to one group and considering employment candidates of all skin colors the same "real racism"?
It's not deprioritizing is discriminating.

but a recent survey showed that 1 in 6 hiring managers was asked not to hire white males. That's the discriminatory behavior implemented in companies throughout the country.

You would be in an uproar if the survey said 1 in 6 hiring managers were asked not to hire black males.

Deprioritize is just a nice word for discriminate against. If they were asked to deprioritize black men you would be against that. It doesn't matter who it's being used against. It's all discrimination.

Was there some sort of admission that they were prioritizing white men? That's a rather large assumption. Where is the proof they were doing that?

I don't see how that relates to what I said.

No it's definitely discrimination. They didn't say they passed over qualified candidates because they didn't have any positions available....they said they passed over those candidates because they are white men.

Nope. They disadvantaged white men. The idea that they had some advantage to begin with is nowhere in the article.

You're just inserting your own racial beliefs into the article.

Same thing with better qualified
Asian students discriminated against
in favour of other races.

Deprioritize is just a Euphemism for racial discrimination. It’s like; “how do you say to not hire White people without actually saying don’t hire white people?” You call it deprioritizing (wink wink) white applicants and everybody involved knows exactly what that is supposed to mean.

It's elsewhere made more explicit

It's a private college after all...but I'm not defending those practices. Get rid of them.

This is what an advantage looks like...

That's what gets added to all applicants....not just the ones that failed to meet whatever baseline criteria exist.

Are they trying to say blacks can't score high enough on their own? Are they trying to say blacks are too dumb so they have to be given extra points?

What's going on here?

*Black politicians represent over 25% of the US population. Do you agree with that? Because that is the claim the CBC is making.
I understand what they are saying. I don't know enough to say whether the numbers are accurate, but I believe they could be.
*Black people represent approx 13% of the US population. Over 25% is 200% of 13%
No, you are continuing to misunderstand the term "represent". The CBC was not referring to "black people" but to senators and representatives of Congress who are black and how much of the population they represent as elected officials.

But thank you for explaining the "200%"

It means they have to do that
to fill their equity quota, and keep out
a surfeit of those unsociable unlikable Asians.
