Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

I don't know why you are so giddy. I've never said there were no obstacles. Did you think I believed that?
Again, I also believe there are obstacles. That's what I've maintained. Not insurmountable but obstacles.

Have any of the obstacles you’ve had to face in your life have to do with your race?

This is how people can tell someone doesn't actually care about racism.

Give them a real concrete example they just mock it.
When will white men finally catch a break in this country?

I already showed you that. Maybe these companies had racist hiring practices and needed to balance out the scales a little bit.

Wait wait wait....hold up. When you say companies need to "balance out the scales a bit"....what does that mean?

Does that mean you're in favor of racial discrimination against white men in hiring?

There's currently a pile of racist morons who support racial discrimination in hiring... against people who look like me.

Something that's been illegal arguably all of @rturner76 life.

You might think I've done some wrong or something but no....turns out they're just racists.

It means they need to recognize their racist practices

Who says they have racist practices?

They admitted to one....discrimination against white men. What does that have to do with "balancing the scales"?

As long as humans observe differences of any kind, there will be prejudice. Systemic is a loaded term though, in the U.S you have protections from prejudice based on race. Whether individuals care to respect such laws is entirely an individual choice. Ditto for private institutions, but the law is there.

In theory though, systemic racism might be more a secondary outcome to other underlying issues such as economic distress, experience accessing resources etc.

1 in 6 told not to hire or deprioritize white men.

Notice how this is real racism. I don't have to assume it's subconsciously happening....it's being said out loud.

Where is the evidence you keep talking about? A disparity or something?
Deprioritize, as in stop favoring white men in hiring. How is not giving priority to one group and considering employment candidates of all skin colors the same "real racism"?

Are you reading into my words
what you choose to look for?
they are your words.

you are implying that the nationwide inequalities in the salaries of black people is attributable to the quality of colleges and how well they do in college so if you aren't suggesting that black people can't get into prestigious universities or can't perform at the same level academically as other races what are you saying?

a real concrete example would have been that hiring managers were being to ld to NOT hire white men at all. All you did was show they have been instructed to stop showing favoritism towards white men

Deprioritize, as in stop favoring white men in hiring.

Right and if you read the article, you'd learn they passed on hiring qualified candidates because they are white men.

Race is not supposed to be a factor in hiring. That's racial discrimination.

Deprioritizing and "not giving advantage" are not the same thing.

If you were hiring people and you gave no consideration to race as you're supposed to....then telling you to deprioritize white men is the same as telling you to consider them last, if at all.

They haven't lost an advantage, they're just being discriminated against.

How about instead of trying to play semantic word games you just go ahead and say you support racial discrimination towards white men. You wouldn't make these rationalizations if this were done to any other group.

No...telling the hiring managers to consider race in any way is racial discrimination under the law. They aren't allowed to consider race.

No....it didn't say they were given favoritism. It didn't say they originally had an advantage. It said they passed on qualified candidates because of their race.....that's racial discrimination.

How many would get into Harvard without affirmative action?

Funny. You gave yourself away with
"Implying". You see what you want to
see implied.
You choose to see what isn't there.
If I believed as you say, I'd argue for
it, not deny it.
You are being quite insulting to claim
I meant what you made up, the words
you put in my mouth.
Then you double down with the insult
that I'm trying to weasel out of my
own words.
This speaks ill of you, not of me.
