How does diatribe against the term "glorified apes," (which no one brought up before in this thread anyway) address the question of whether God killed babies in the Flood? It doesn't.

Well, it does relate in the matter of how some of the less advanced apes think.

So if God didn't do it, who does that leave? untamed glorified apes?

Does the "fact" that we are glorified apes mean we don't have the right to be feral?

Didn't Klebold and Harris go feral, while evolutionists stood around wondering what happened?

You do realize that "glorified ape" is an oxymoron, don't you?

We're all supposed to act "glorified", but when the "ape" part rears its ugly head, evolutionists scratch their hind ends and act like they don't know what caused it.

Earthquake in Haiti?

How DARE anyone suggest God did it; but mother nature did it? no problem -- we fully understand.
So you take offense to someone pointing out verses in the bible that you'd preffer to ignore? You know you don't get to pick and choose right?

Haha, no, you don't know that, do you. Do you?

What the heck are you talking about? Of course God did it or he commanded his followers to do it for him. Are you saying the verses I posted were not God commanding the Israelites?

Does the "fact" that we are glorified apes mean we don't have the right to be feral?

Didn't Klebold and Harris go feral, while evolutionists stood around wondering what happened?

You are confusing me? Did those verses I posted make your brain go 404?

You do realize that "glorified ape" is an oxymoron, don't you?

Of course we know what causes it. We are human but we are still animals. We are cultured but still act on feral impulses. Some people are better at controling their impulses than others. I still don't see the point you are trying to get at unless you are just trying to ignore the verses that show that God had no problem with being a baby killer.

Earthquake in Haiti?

How DARE anyone suggest God did it; but mother nature did it? no problem -- we fully understand.

Earthquakes are something that happen naturally. The reason it affected Haiti so badly is because of their poverty and lack of building codes. If you want to believe God struck Haiti with an earthquake go right ahead. I just find it funny that the God of the meek and lowly would hit the poorest country in the western hemisphere. But then again, he does kill babies.

The people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children." Hosea 9:16

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children." Ezekiel 9:5

Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. Isaiah 13:15-18

Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.' 1 Samuel 15:2-3

Based on the above verses I'm sure God had no problem killing babies in the flood. You are just not wanting to accept the fact that God would kill babies and little children.
Ah, so you can't. OK. You instead resort to other times and situations in the bible.

In the case of talking about what the Medes and etc will do, well, that was the Medes and what they were going to do.

As for Eze 9:5 well, read the verse before.

; 4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Apparently sacrificing infants and other horrible things were done. This means we are talking capitol punishment. Whoopee do.

Same deal with Hosea

9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins

I just heard a piece on this on the radio the other day. Apparently it wasn't safe for men to sleep out in the square there. Homosexual rape. So they were invited in a house. The men of the city came, and demanded the man visitor be given to them to gang rape. The guy pleaded, and offered his daughter and the visitors galfriend instead. The concubine gal was given, and the next morning crawled up to the door, where she died, before they woke up. She was so bad, that her body apparently was a real mess all over. Etc...This is the sort of thing that God lowered the boom on these guys for. God bless God, I say.

Not to mention the first born in Egypt and the genocide of the Amalekites.

...
Egypt had been throwing all boys of the Hebrews into the Nile for ages, if I recall? And the Amalekites were guilty as sin also. The wicked eventually will get what they deserve. This includes the present. Justice is on the way, more certainly than the sun will rise tomorrow.

So, you're basing the future on what we know today? How do you know the future state will not be different from the present state? I thought you were against assumptions like that.

God's state is the same. Now, then, and later.

Whatever. He doesn't change with the wind. The justice of the flood did not depend on the laws of physics.

"God's state is the same. Now, then, and later."
I'm glad we're not forgetting that God or his 'state' didn't change back then, either. =)

I can't what? I was replying to AV.

; 4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

So all of those "abominations" excused God from killing children and infants?

10 But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. 11 They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. 12 Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales—that shall be an abomination to you. Leviticus 11:10-12

Apparently sacrificing infants and other horrible things were done. This means we are talking capitol punishment. Whoopee do.

So children were killed because of their parents sin? That seems to contradict Ezekiel 18:20.

20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son.

Do I have to explain this again?

Ezekiel 9 is a vision.

Where is the verse that claims Ezekiel 9 is a vision? In any case, what about the other verses in the Bible where God commands the killing of children and infants?

You need to take the entire context and view the whole picture, else you run the risk of error doctrine.

You need to understand that Canaan was real estate that belonged (and still belongs) to Abraham's seed.

In addition, you need to understand that God gave them plenty of time to vacate the area (read Rahab the harlot's testimony to the spies).

When zero-hour finally came, they paid for their sins -- in spades.

Also, keep in mind that the killing of men, women and children was only done w/i the borders of Canaan.

They were not to bother anyone outside of their homeland, unless provoked.

In short, we need to realize that God had His reasons for ordering what He ordered, and to disobey could spell disaster for the children of Israel.

God, in His foreknowledge of the future, could see what would happen should a child be saved alive, only to come back as an adult with assassination on his mind.

Yeah, a bunch of desert.

In addition, you need to understand that God gave them plenty of time to vacate the area (read Rahab the harlot's testimony to the spies).

When zero-hour finally came, they paid for their sins -- in spades.

So God would have the children pay for their parents' sins? That certainly contradicts Ezekiel 18.

Also, keep in mind that the killing of men, women and children was only done w/i the borders of Canaan.

So what made the killing of children okay? They were stooping on land God was giving to the Israelites?

They were not to bother anyone outside of their homeland, unless provoked.

In short, we need to realize that God had His reasons for ordering what He ordered, and to disobey could spell disaster for the children of Israel.

So if you had lived back in that time and God told you to kill babies, would you?

God, in His foreknowledge of the future, could see what would happen should a child be saved alive, only to come back as an adult with assassination on his mind.

Then I guess Christians should be in favor of abortion, using that logic.

Who knows? Not you. So in cases where we do not know it all, it is a safe bet to know He had very good reasons.

I've got them busy right now looking for that verse that claims Ezekiel 9 is a vision.

Yes, it seems to be about the time when Israel was warned about the coming judgments for abominations they had committed. If God withdraws His protection, we find that the tender mercies of pagans can be cruel indeed. Looks like God was telling how it would be like when they came in.
I suppose in the sense that He withdrew His protection, He brought them in.
So, when His people commit grievous evil, like sacrificing babies, and etc, He eventually allows them to suffer for it.
Anything else of note there?
