  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Clearly OldWiseGuy doesn't realise that women are as good at climbing trees as men. Also they are good at fighting fires, working on oil rigs and other jobs that he thinks are men only domains. Its not the 1960s anymore...its 2019, almost 2020 and more women are working in STEM areas

Well, I'd say that I can, but i'd have to either take off my pants or lift up my dress, and then I'd have to shuffle around quite a bit, and I'd probably end up peeing on my shoes anyway, but...

You are free to practice but you might find it easier with a stencil.

I might go to the hardware store later and get a funnel and a short length of hose. :p

And the visual I'm getting is hilarious.

Considering that you boys have that built in, it seems like I'm simply levelling the playing field, not cheating.

I concede. You are correct. I also think that perhaps we have pushed this issue to the limit.

Just reminded of an episode of 2 Broke Girls (yeah it's juvenile, but amusing nonetheless. Could've done without the drama, but that's what kept it going as a sitcom) where Oleg gives Caroline what is basically just a cone for women to pee like men, because it was everyone getting drunk on St. Patrick's Day or such. Was a weird thing to sell, but Caroline, rich girl that she was, almost used it.

I'd argue it's sort of a trade off in the genital area: since ours are much more vulnerable to attack, while females aren't, but, barring exceptions, menstruate regularly, so there's still some measure of pain involved, even if it's a different kind.

I've heard about those. I'm actually curious. It would be interesting to give one a go.

I think the jobs women actually do reveals the truth of the matter regardless of arguments about their ability.

That’s because until the 1970s we were prevented from actually doing those jobs . I remember when policewoman were only allowed to be crossing guards. there were no female bus drivers or train conductors . You could barely get a woman to learn carpentry laboratory, engineering, or metalworking skills etc and it wasn’t because they didn’t want to learn them . We were actively and deliberately prevented from learning them . We were also discouraged from learning science or math. In my old junior high we weren’t allowed to take shop classes ( which annoyed all of us girls) and the boys weren’t allowed to take cooking or sewing classes ( which annoyed them ) . Picture the entire 7th grade protesting

You might be interested to learn that last year a female Canadian naval officer was promoted to the command of a NATO naval task force.

I had a free hour in my senior year in hs (1958). I took a typing class. There was one other guy in the class, and he was gay. The instructor was the football coach. Go figger.

This has nothing to do with misogyny, it has to do with fatherly love. A guy down my street has this decal on his truck:

iu
Was the guy down the street serious or joking?

your football coach ? some men were smart enough to understand the term “ useful skill” even in the benighted 50s .

There are many issues facing women in my country - Amongst them are:
  • The prevalence of domestic violence with a woman killed every week by her partner
  • Sexual Assault - our society has advanced, yet the crime of men sexually assaulting women (and men) has not abated.
  • Domestic equality - This may sound like a trivial issue, but it is one of the greatest sources of marital disagreement - There's some great testimony of divorced women who will argue that they had far less work to do once they were divorced. Having a male partner resulted in an increased workload as opposed to a sharing of the workload..... and this causes discontent and arguments. Over 95% of women who have full-time employment, state they do all the cooking and most of the domestic and child-rearing duties. (There's lots of sources on this topic but here's one if you are interested: Even Breadwinning Wives Don’t Get Equality at Home )
I acknowledge though, that the latter is a first world issue. If you are from countries such as India/Pakistan, UAE and most developing nations, the issues against women are a whole lot worse:
  • Honour Killings
  • Child Marriages
  • Gaol for defaming a male
  • Access to jobs
  • Access to education
  • Rape and assault
The fact that these statistics exist has nothing to do with Marxist or radical feminist ideals. They exist, because misogyny exists. We are your sister or your mother, but too many of you men treat us as your slave or enemy.

All of our coaches taught at least of few classes. Typing didn't really involve a lot of teacher/student interaction. I'm guessing he chose to teach typing for that reason. He wasn't the most gregarious person.
