Around here this officer who owns drug sniffing dog....
does presentations on how bad drugs are and shows how the dog will act if they are caught and how good the dog is in sniffing out the drugs.

The dog came from France, so all his commands are French.

He does presentations to schools and scouts and where ever children have groups, he goes.
My kids have seen him like 3 times.

I hope it hits home.

Those are real. I found them online, but I've seen them in other places as well. They really don't show the whole picture either - what you don't see are the yellow fingernails from calcium deficiency, nor the "meth-mouth" which is where they lose their teeth from it.

Yeah. I can't copy and paste for what ever reason. I think I messed up in the picture I did post.

As for terms for meth:

Ice, gak, crystal, batu, tweak, crank, speed, amp, yaba and tons of others. All are meth, though some are in different forms. I have some great pictures, if I can get them up.

I've seen some people's mouths go to pot because of crack use, their teeth go dead. I have never seen anything that bad, though.

Crack is a form of Cocaine...I think, and doesn't have the same destructive power on teeth. With meth you have both poor oral care and increased sugar intake, your teeth rot out very fast.

No, crack is the base form of the cocaine salt. It is made by mixing baking soda and water with powder (acid salt) cocaine.

Methamphetamine is a different salt of its own. It is made by reducing an oxygen from pseudoephedrine/ephedrine molecule. This is then made into a salt with the introduction of HCl.

I agree with you, Don. Merry Christmas, and thanks for doing a sometimes thankles, sometimes dangerous job.

I never bought the "gateway" theory. People generally experimernt with smoking and drinking before pot (when they're underage and it's illegal), so maybe those are the gateway drugs?

Probably the ultimate gateway, even greater than alcohol, is nicotine. And nicotine is one of the hardest to break away from.
