Memorial Day weekend plans??

I'm getting ready to go to a garden/ antiques party. Already got the graves decorated. Will probably listen to the race as I do some yard work. Nothing terribly exciting. Might have a few drinks in the evening. Just playing it by ear. How about you?

Nothing special, but I want to ask: you still decorate family graves? I was at a (largely Catholic) family graveyard recently and learned that although they often came to plant flowers and decorate the graves a generation ago, now very few are decorated in any way.

My plans are uneventful. Just going to SAM's tonight, and then home to feed cats, read, and play on the computer. Tomorrow it's probably some yard work. Basically a typical weekend.

That's cool. I don't live near (within a hundred miles) of any family graves. I like to think I'd get into it to some degree, if possible.

I find it theraputic for whatever reason.

It's a cool practice and I should resolve to do some at least when I'm nearby. And I have at least one friend-of-the-family grave nearby that I should see to when I can...

Happy Memorial Day! I just feel it is rooted deeply in us to do such things.

The grave yardwhere my Father,Mother and brothers are buried is always decorated. On top of that volunteers put thousands of flags on all the graveyards for memorial day.
