Be that as it may, I would rather believe him than some un elected person trying to scare us with lies and ruining the economy and freedom in America

Would you rather believe someone who gets basic facts incorrect and with absolutely no background education on the subject or fact based, knowledged backed information?

This is the fundamental question to ask

Yes there is a time when this will end. The few people who are giving far too much air to the idea of indefinite lockdown are conspiracy minded folk anyways.

It depends. Are the facts in question my bank balance and is the error to add a few 0s to my bank balance? I need more information before I can answer.

I also very much believe that this virus was here much earlier and that those who observed individuals traveling extensively in these current hotspots will corroborate this if they simply look back.

Very true

Taiwan's response is the one we should emulate

Based on what?

The belief that "coronavirus was here in the end of 2019" is something I've seen a several of those who take the stance "we shouldn't take any significant action/it's probably not much worse than the flu" push.

Not only is this belief not supported with any evidence, it flies in the face of the evidence we do have. What we've seen, not just in the US, but pretty much every country around the world, is an exponential growth rate of the virus which is only curbed when social distancing or other more extreme measures are taken. If it were around in November 2019 as these people suggest, we wouldn't have had 1-2 deaths and the increasing death rate from that number once it became diagnosable. Instead, we would have seen an initial jump to 100s or 1000s of deaths from the get go, as it would have already been somewhat saturated in the population.

This isn't to say that there wasn't some sort of respiratory virus that was around in late 2019, but every bit of evidence we have shows that it wasn't COVID19.

What "Stanford Research" are you talking about? There have been more than one claim circulated about the outbreak supposedly from Stanford that turned out to have nothing to do with Stanford.

As for when it started, genetic studies agree with the epidemiological reports: the first case in humans was sometime in the late fall.

Maybe if you sourced your claim we could examine it. I did several google searches for it (such as "Stanford Research coronavirus 2019") and saw nothing relating to what you're claiming.

Sorry. Terrible analogy. Not providing a response.

Ah, the Stanford researcher turns out to be a conservative military historian. You can read about it here

So the models are wrong about the number of deaths. And we destroy our economy. Also I heard the death toll in NY is inflated because they are calling all death of patients as a COVID death even it is not. Is that true? Does anyone know about this?

The lady in the scarf at the press conference said this. Me and my wife heard her say that.

That fireman and the 2 nurses were not inflating anything!! They've worked to the point of exhaustion and had to wade through the dead bodies in the halls and crammed into the morgues and now into refrigerated trucks!! It's obvious you read only what you wan t to believe.

I heard from EMT guys that if a person is exhibiting the symptoms of Covid19 -- flu like symptoms, shortness of breath, exhaustion, etc. and they die, they may be listed as a Covid death even if they aren't tested.

No one is designating people who are dying from some other cause as Covid. It is possible that a few people with the Flu are being tallied as Covid.

....because there was nothing like what happened in new york, even if you take into account some of the deaths inflated *not alot because most of those would have been from it* last year, I don't seem to recall hospitals overun in every city in the states, anyone else recall that?

Are you saying Sandy Hook was something other than what was reported, or are you saying that is tripe?

NY's death numbers are certainly wrong -- they're badly undercounting the actual number of COVID deaths because they don't test cases that die at home.
