We know how Ebola is spread.

We know the medical staff in Dallas were not prepared to treat a symptomatic patient.

One of nine patients treated in the US has died

....and yet, some politicians continue to support overly restrictive policies based on fear, rather than science.

You would think that these same folks would be huge fans of the TSA security theater.

What a liar. She actually worked for the CDC. From your link:

In her article for The Dallas News, Hickox claimed that she worked with Doctors Without Borders caring for Ebola stricken individuals in West Africa. In actuality, Hickox had ties with the Centers for Disease Control by virtue of being an official CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer.

According to the Daily Caller, Hickox was listed as an "active" EIS officer as recently as July 18, 2014, per the CDC's own documents.

According to the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act, disciplinary action, up to suspension and revocation of the license of the licensee, can be taken when the license holder engages in "(E) Incompetence in the practice for which the licensee is licensed. A licensee is considered incompetent in the practice if the licensee has: (1) engaged in conduct that evidences a lack of ability or fitness to discharge the duty owed by the licensee to a client or patient or general public; …." Since Ms. Hickox was unwilling to discharge her duty to follow the State of New Jersey public health mandate of a quarantine in their state under the guidelines the state was allowed to implement by virtue of abdication of the federal government, she exhibited a level of incompetence to fulfill her duty to the general public.​

I don't know about evil. Extreme arrogance comes to mind.

What is clear is that she is bent on a mission for her own freedom ... and knows CDC's guidelines: (again from your link)

Siegel told the Bangor newspaper that Hickox would contest any court order. But she will abide by guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that say she should subject herself to monitoring, such as daily reporting of measured temperatures.

"The conditions that the state of Maine is now requiring Kaci to comply with are unconstitutional and illegal and there is no justification for the state of Maine to infringe on her liberty," Siegel told the Daily News.​

One thing that Hickox is not. A hero. Now Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 astronauts? Those men were heroes. When they returned from the moon the astronauts spent 21 days inside a NASA quarantine trailer. They didn't complain one bit. Evidently Hickox needs to learn what sacrifice is all about.
