  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Praise God, the roller coaster is heading upwards again! I had the opportunity to talk to my older son about college and he IS going!!!!! Whew! What a relief! At least for the time being I don't have to kill myself (just kidding I would never do that, but this is a REALLY big deal to me)

He still wants to move out and he explained his reasons. I told him, I didn't really "get it" but he could always change his mind.
Truth be told, I really don't care as long as he gets his college degree.

THANK YOU LORD! THANK YOU JESUS!

That is wonderful! I know that must be a huge relief for you, Michelle!

So I'll say something ...

Since I've been single again since Feb, I've made it a point to get into a friendship/relationship with a bunch of people who think differently than I do and to try and understand them in their own terms rather than me just putting them into my preconceived ideas. Its really opened my eyes to how differently people think.

As Christians we are aware of how well Jesus meets our needs. But its rather interesting to meet and interact with people who have an eastern mind set and like thinking of energy as the definitive word that describes the essence of god. Now if the eastern religions didn't mean a basic need of people I don't think it would be around for several thousand years now. So it is meeting their needs in some fashion.

One of the major things I've not figured out yet is how they can think energy is so great. Yes energy is every where in the physical world as all motion takes energy, even to move a proton takes energy. So does it take energy for a spirit to move? That's one line of thought that would be interesting to understand.

But the thing that interests me is ... to me its personhood or personness that I find interesting. We say God is 3 persons not 3 beings. I am a person and you are a person. So to love God and love our neighbor is to be concern or engaged with them as an other person. Why do they get this same feeling toward energy? Which to me is very impersonal? Yet the people I'm talking with are very in tuned to people and wanting to love everyone they meet.

That's what I'm thinking right now.

Was out to a dance at a new place last night. Had a great time dancing with a lady I'd not meet before. Loved waltzing with her and she snuggled in close.

thats good dayhiker. I myself went to dance lessons last night for the first time. It is lightyears outside of my comfort zone so thats why I did it.

I was real bad. But if any guy wanted to meet women , just go ballroom dancing.

BTW the cha-cha kicked my rear.

When people convert to Christianity from these religions, they often express that they never understood that God could be known on a personal way...and that is what touched them.

I can't imagine that anyone ever leaves Christianity because they wanted to escape the personal connection with God. (I'm guessing if they leave then they they never had it or are trying to escape the guilt that goes with turning your back on God.) I think we all are looking for interpersonal relationships...and finding this "unknown" energy is just step in that direction. Ultimately, I believe that if the energy is good, it is really them "touching the robe of God"...when he actually wants them to come sit with Him. It is a taste of the real thing.
