CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have no issue with the presidential vote. I'm not exstatic about the choices, but I will choose the lesser of the two evils. But in my local or state votes I WANT all the incumbants OUT but I am afraid that if I vote just against incumbants that the "new" people if elected will vote strictly party line which would not be good if they don't hold the same or similar views than I do.
For example our Senate vote is either for Jeff Flake who has been in office since 2001. He is a conservative (and a mormon). Running against him is Richard Carmona (Dem) and Marc Victor (LBT).
I think I have decided against Richard Carmona even though he has been attorney general and former military because he is for the Dream Act and I am not and I'm not sure about Marc Victor.
Then there are all these Propositions and some of them I just do not understand! They tell you the yes vote will change it to this and the no vote will keep it the same. But I don't know if how it is now is good.
Lord please give me clarity as I make my choices today. Let me choose according to your will because I know it is You that puts these people in power in the first place. Thank you Lord!

Well, my car died on my last night. A jump start got me going, and its in the garage today, getting some work done. Its the alternator. It seems like its a major job to remove the alternator from my car, so the cost will he high. Getting some other maintenance work done as well.

yeah nowadays they make cars so you can't hardly work on them yourself even if you wanted to and they practically have to pull the engine out just to change some parts like that. I feel for ya!

Rats! Got my speeding ticket in the mail yesterday. Funny thing is that last month my son told me that he got flashed and thought he was for sure getting a ticket. God allowed grace and no ticket has come for him. It's been over a month so I think they probably didn't get a good picture of him or something. He's sure he got flashed. But anyway mine was on the 6th and I also knew I got flashed. I had just gotten an MRI on my knee and I was kind of in a hurry and didn't know there was a camera there. My fault. So I will do online traffic school. Just sucks because it's a couple hundred bucks I didn't budget for (budget? what's that lol). But I just gotta learn to SLOW down LOL. And I'm very glad my son didn't get a ticket. . I think I'm going to start wearing my sunglasses when driving, just in case

So sorry to hear that! Didn't know that they did that for speeding. I've seen the cameras to catch those who run red lights, but haven't heard of anything like that for speeding.

I had to do some work on mine last weekend. It wouldn't start. It had been raining, so wet ignition was the likely problem.
Chevy V8s have the distributor on the rear of the engine, on top. So, the doghouse had to come off, then it's an inside job. You're working on the engine from inside the passenger compartment, between the seats.
I got the problem fixed, it seems to be OK now.

yep. photo radar. Well at least I can go to traffic school online while I'm at work and not have it go on my driving record. Yeah it wasn't in my budget, but what is LOL?
The thing is, is that I have been SO careful not to speed since my last ticket but those darn photo radar's are the ones that get me. I just hope this will be my last ticket EVER LOL.

I bet you do .. are a lot of people getting them? We don't have them around here as far as I know. On the highway the old Rt.128 and that is now I-95 when here is little traffic people drive 80 MPH and the speed limit is 55! Very seldom are people given tickets
