  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

He got home last night at about 1AM (well technically I guess it's this morning ;)). He was a little upset because he got a ticket in Texas for improper U turn on the Hwy. He said he was kind of nervous cuz he's never been pulled over before. But he's home, car is OK, he goes back to work Friday. He said he came home cuz he knew the dog was dying so he expected to come back and take her to be put down. Of course yesterday before he got home, she's acting all happy and even ate some food! Oh this is so much trauma on our hearts. We don't want her to suffer, but we don't want to put her down too early. We are giving her TumorX that is supposed to shrink the tumor but we barely started her on it, so IDK if it will work or if we can wait, I just don't know. I don't want to be in charge of ending a life. I know we have to at some point, but still I don't want to do it.

Sad day today......We are putting the puppy to sleep forever. She has been the best dog EVER and I am SO sad to have to do this. Grrrrr. I am also glad that we, as humans are not allowed to decide this for ourselves. I couldn't imagine someone I love saying this is the day I am going to die...and all the rest of us having to endure this pain. I feel like I am re-living my husband dying. At one time, he would actually ask us every night to pray that this was the night the Lord would take him! Of course I never said that prayer! When he did tell me he was tired of fighting, I did release him because I loved him, but still the pain either way was so unbearable. And God took him, we didn't do anything. In this case we are actually putting this poor animal to sleep. This is horrible! Dogs can't talk and while I know she is in pain, I want so desparately to save her!!! I only wish I knew what the purpose was for us having to go thru this, but it would not matter if I actually could know the reason, because reasons never satisfy!
And of course this morning, she didn't even want to take her pain pill pockets which she usually wanted. BUT she did want to chase a few rocks around the yard! Makes it that much harder. Please pray for me and my family today. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for the condolences. The thing I'm having a hard time with is my last image of her laying on the floor at the vet. Ugh! But it makes me glad I didn't let my boys see their dad after he passed for that exact reason and I told them that too.

Ok, Sat. I leave AK and head home. It's been a great vacation. Sister and I drove 1100 miles, cruised on a catamaran for 60 miles in Prince Williams Sound and rode 110 miles in Denali Park on a bus. Very pretty views. Glad I made the trip. Good to hang out with my sister as well.

So, this morning I am sitting here trying to figure out why my older son is so intent on moving out? I know it's the thing to do when you turn 18 and usually they can't do certain things living in their parents house, so I get that. But that is not the case with my son and our situation. He pretty much does whatever he wants. He has people over, he comes and goes as he pleases, gets his laundry done for him (I don't mind and he does do it, if he needs something before I do the weekly laundry) and he doesn't even have to pay rent! So can anyone help me out? WHY would you move out, where you have to pay rent, etc (especially when you deliver pizza's for a living) instead of staying at home, going to college, and not to mention where he works is right by my house?
I could understand if he didn't have the freedom he has at home. But I think it would be better for him to stay there, go to college, save his money and THEN move out. What am I missing?

Probably posted this before, but why oh why does my boss feel the need to tell white lies about IF he is coming back to work or not? He leaves this morning saying he is going to get an oil change on his truck at 9am....says "Ill be back" and then never comes back. It's not that I care really, just I have a message for him, and if I knew he wasn't coming back I would call him, plus I have checks for him to sign, again no big deal, but I don't understand WHY he can't just say he won't be back!

So it must happen often enough that its not a rare thing where he might change his mind after he leaves the office?

It happens ALL the time but the other day when I posted this....to my surprise he came back! And it was almost 2pm which is unheard of for him. Like I said, it really doesn't matter to me, I just think it's funny. I think he is afraid the guys will stop working or something if he tells them he's not coming back, either that or he feels guilty for leaving, which IDK why he would, he's the owner after all, he can do what he wants.

Praise God, the roller coaster is heading upwards again! I had the opportunity to talk to my older son about college and he IS going!!!!! Whew! What a relief! At least for the time being I don't have to kill myself (just kidding I would never do that, but this is a REALLY big deal to me)

He still wants to move out and he explained his reasons. I told him, I didn't really "get it" but he could always change his mind.
Truth be told, I really don't care as long as he gets his college degree.

THANK YOU LORD! THANK YOU JESUS!
