  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We always stay home Isa. We live right on the river in the woods so it's like a vacation spot already. Sometimes we take short day trips to a flea market or some such thing.

We do have a lot of free activities listed in the paper offered in town.

The star gazing party at the park was one.

You might check that out.

Lots of stuff in there for kids & teens.

Our Church offered a free retreat & swimming party for the teens not too long ago.

Keep scanning your local paper for whats out there.
Sounds like you live in a vacation world for sure. That is how it use to be for me too. I lived on a lake for years and grew up on one. I really miss it. :(

The star gazing sounds wonderful. I have always wanted a a telescope to do that, but the good ones are to expensive. I use to lay on my daughters trampoline at night when everyone was sleeping and look up at the stars. When I lived in CO, looking up at the stars were breath taking, I had never seen anything like it. Every night you could see millions, almost like you could reach your hand our and touch them.

I LOVE flee markets too. You never know what you might find. :)

<~~~~That thing at the bottom right of each post...hit it to multi quote at every post you wanna quote.. :D

Sorry - not too many ideas.
YAHOO! Thank you WA. I cant believe that it was that easy. LOL I feel like a ditz. I love the teen sized muzzle idea. LOL. My sister goes to that same indoor water park in Ohio with her kids and hubby. It sounds like lots of fun.

I love the way my hubby always supports me. When the kids were young and I wanted to stay home, he said okay, we'll make it work. When they got older and I went back to work, he helps around the house. Three years ago I began looking into becoming a Secular Franciscan, and although I think it scared him a little, afraid I would go "holy roller" I guess, but he still supported me. When I was professed last April and he was working that night, I came home to flowers from him. I can only pray that I am as good a wife to him as he is husband to me.

Peace and all good,
Nancy
Sounds like you have quite the hubby there. And he helps around the house too?! WOW!!!!! You won't find that to often.

You are welcome. :)

The teen muzzle seems like a joke...doesnt it? Muhahahahaha. :p
Who knew teens would drive you mad, mad i tell you.

Mine know everything under the sun and will argue about it til they go to bed. :doh:FOR all i know - they argue in their sleep too!!!!

I need to invest in 'pain reliever' stock since i know I am going to have 4 teens at once shortly...within a few years.

Will I survive?
Stay tuned....

My wife is the most loyal person I have ever met.

Other than that I admire her quiet spirituality.

How she takes care of herself.

Her discipline.

Her natural ability to care for the sick and elderly.

She's pretty much an epic person. :crossrc: I've never had anyone love me as much as she does.

I am kind of excited, we are going on a trip! Not to big, but its a ten hour car ride one way. So that should be interesting.

I did a 24 hour trip one way a few times...to Colorado. :)
Hope you have fun.

I don't think i would be able to do the Co trip again. :D With 4 kids...
Nah, no way, no how.

UGH! How well I know. But natural doesn't = easy. Ok enough of that kind of talk, don't want to keep my mind going there.

Sooooo, What is the most admired thing you (and everyone else) love about your spouse? Or in my case fiancé.

The most?

She keeps me grounded in reality. :)

After that, being the most caring person I have ever met!

Then the list becomes too long to fit in one post.

Tell ya in person. ;)

Awe shucks. Thanks.

But please do tell!!!! I could always use a pick me up, especially after a long day at work. My feet hurt. :( But, *sigh*, there is still getting you know who in the tub, them my shower, then there is the laundry, and still the vacuuming to do, then the dishes, and if I am lucky I might get to eat before I go to bed. I am just tired thinking of all tis.

CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY!!!

Maybe I should skip some of it and just get my daughter bathed in bed, and take a relaxing bath myself with lavender oil to calm me and a nice glass of wine. Ah, now that sounds better.

But if I get off this computer and hurry..........., maybe I can get the vacuuming done, dishes done, start at least a load of laundry and bla, bla, bla, bla.

Oh ya, then there is praying for vocations that I still have to do tonight. Since I volunteered to bring the statue of Mary and Chalice home for a week from Church. What was I thinking.......

Honestly, I don't know what got into me. I think I am a tad hyper right now. ^_^

There are good and bad anxieties love. Remember.

Good being necessary ones, bad ones potentially being to hard on ones self. Not always easy to figure out but the balance is found in priorities of the spirit as well, not only in the needs of the world. ;)

Ask yourself; What does God expect of you and what are you expecting of yourself. Then die to self. ;) And if not, at least do like I do and procrastinate. ^_^
