CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Congratulations to all those who're celebrating good, strong marriages! I'm always impressed by that. 
To others like me who've never been married & keeping pure, that's great, too. It's a lot of work to remain chaste in this world that's becoming more & more blatantly licentious.
For those who've returned to purity, congratulations! That's a great decision. By purity I mean either chastity or faithfulness in marriage. Either way, I understand that it's hard to go back to that. Prayers of strength be with you all!

I am currently in my 2nd marriage, 5 and a half years so far. First ended with her given birth to some one else's baby, but thats another thread. I've done a lot better in my selection this time, or should I say I listened to God better this time.

I find it encouraging, yet a bit bewildering, that people can successfully marry so young these days. It hasn't worked out that way for me. People say I'm funny, friendly, good looking, smart, healthy, use clean language, and apparently I even have a 'bad-boy' edge at times (as I drive Camaros, occasionally listen to loud music etc). I've reserved sexual activity for marriage, and I used to pray constantly about meeting my future wife some day... yet I'm burning up here without ever having had a long-term relationship, let alone a marriage. Apparently God has not allowed me to cross paths with compatible Christian women. Most I've met are on completely different wavelengths. There has been very little seeing eye-to-eye between us, at least in terms of romatic things. Either that or they're far too old, far too young or far too married (in other words, they're not prospects at all, but somewhat encouraging nevertheless). It's nice to hear that some pre-30s marriages still hold together in this day and age... though I'm a bit lost as to how such couplings even happen.
It must be so comforting to have a spouse... someone to share your life and its struggles with. Coming from an intact family with parents who still love each other, and being a romantic at heart, I have always envisioned such a blessing in my life. Those who have a loving spouse to come home to at the end of the day are truly fortunate.

Been married once and will celebrate our 13th year the last day of August. I've always told my wife that if anything ever happend to her, I'd never get married again. That's my plan, but God's ways are not our ways.
