I miss the Lone Gunmen.....uuugggh as Robin Williams as Mork would say, "heavy sigh!"

I miss that whole program.

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I miss the '90's!!!! X-Files, MST3K...... (sigh)

Sister WA, you think I don't know that stuff already? Come on. I was razzing Wols. You should know me by now. If you think I don't know about Google Earth, cookies, satellites, cell traces, the Patriot Act, and countless others means of tracking, you must think I'm one epic dufus!:o:o:p
Darn it Wols beat me to it... below. :p
That chip doesn't have its own power source so it doesn't send out signals. The reader is what has the power source in order to detect it. That reader needs to be very close in order for it to be detected.

So, you needn't worry about this detecting you. You'd be worse off carrying your cell phone. It has a power source and sends out signal.
Lo - what are the chances of some government geek getting paid well who can take that sort of device and make a program to detect with?
I'd say - good - very good.

Dont think it cant be done.
Dont be naive.
True. :)

It's the truth, Scully; it's out there. Just ask these guys:

^_^...:p You beat me to it.

Very small. It isn't a question of a program being able to detect it, it's a question of power. It's like being worried your house is going to flood because you put a straw in a glass of water.

Your cell phone is what to worry about.

Your cell, your car, credit cards [has all your info],
satellites and yes chips - cos when they get 'all your info on them - you better believe it will have tracking too.

Credit cards are tracked when they are used, not though the air.

What do cars and cell phones have in common? They have power sources and actively send out signals. A cell phone makes active connections to the cells and active connections to GPS. Cars do the same thing for GPS.

A chip don't have those. The receivers are the powered part of the process and, as such, are usually only good for close reception. They really couldn't be used to detect someone walking though the woods or even though a city. It would be incredibly inefficient.

Now, if you made it a credit chip used to purchase things, you could track where people went and what they bought.

Man if this story is circulating anywhere outside of any Catholic media, I can imagine a few of the nut jobs from the Eschatology forum are having a field day with this.

I used to believe that sort of thing would be the mark of the beast, but from what I understand now, the mark was a part of the Imperial Cult in ancient Rome. Priests of the imperial cult would mark the hands of those who would bow down to the image of Caesar that was placed at the entrance to the marketplace and that mark would permit them to buy and sell.

I'm not sure if the RFID is the actual "mark" spoken of in Revelation but I have heard speculation that if it is indeed the mark of the beast, by the time it gets rolled out it would have been modified so that it can actually alter your DNA. If this is the case, it could potentially take your humanity and it would explain why the mark causes you to eternally fall from God's grace.

Edit: I forgot that it's already being rolled out to get people used to it (desensitizing us to it) but it's not mandatory YET. If I'm here for it, they might as well make me first in line to get beheaded because I am NOT worshiping the beast nor am I taking the mark.

It's not just when things are purchased--it's just looking at something in Google or some of the other search engines. Do a search and suddenly half a dozen ads show up on the computer (in every website and including your email) concerning something about the search. It's creepy.

How about the students that accepted borrowing laptaps from their school and found that (unknown to the student or his parents) the school turned on the camera and was photographing them even at night!

Of course, I agree that cell phones are a problem. Can't even remove the batteries in some of the newer ones.

And that OnStar program. Have heard that even after the people have decided against it (and the contract has run out) people have found that they are still being tracked to their discomfort.

Is this all the mark of the beast? IMO it just makes one feel like a micro chipped dog.

I heard Petsmart pooper-scoopers are rigged with tracking chips as well. The NSA wants to know where pet-owners are cleaning up after fido. Shameless people....

I heard on CNN that there are even chips in your appliances now. I'm too tired to search it.

They really did have a bunch of weird TV shows back then.....Picket Fences, Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure, Eerie Indiana....
We can't have weird shows anymore. They get cancelled if too many people like them: Farscape, Firefly, Crusade, Millennium, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13.

The protestant belief is your toast if you take anything like this. Eternal damnation.

More serious than big government.

What sort of protestants are these? I have never heard of anything like that - or talking about big government bringing damnation for that matter.

:thumbsup:lest you all forget - neilsons ratings... ya know - keeping track what you are watching.

Not sure - but that would be kinda odd. I mean your appliance would sit in the cupboard sometimes for years.
That would be a waste...

Some stuff I use so seldom - I got rid of. :D

I bet they have fines for those who don't use it. lolol

Much like the cameras on corners now.

Whats creepy is - a conservation cop drove up my drive way - back down and around again.

What was I reported for burning our cereal boxes.

Seriously? I find that hard to believe. Many protestants of all varieties believe in an end time scenario that includes a mark that will be enforced by government. You can flip in Christian channel on TV & find someone talking about it.
