So you want a polytheist Trinity,so you have to reinvent some ancient heresies to manage it.But if it's about Mary, I see that Mary is the Mother of Jesus, but not the Mother of the Father or the Holy Spirit .. so this doctrine kind of needs to be quarantined so Trinity can make sense. That is, unless the ancient church actually treats Mary as God .. but that's impossible.
The Father is GodSo you want a polytheist Trinity,so you have to reinvent some ancient heresies to manage it.
Sorry mate, but that's simply gibberish. If you said that Mary was the surrogate mother of GOD, that would be more in alignment with scripture since He was a child from The Holy Spirit.
And having responded, the angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you. For this reason also the Holy Child being born will be called God’s Son. (Luke 1:35)Sorry mate, but that's simply gibberish.
As all our mothers are to us. And somehow they're still our mothers. She was only a vessel to bring the Son into the world
Uh, no. Jesus is her son. Read the Scripture:, hence a surrogate. She agreed to the childbirth from another.
And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:31–35, see also Matthew 12:46–50; Luke 8:19–21)As all our mothers are to us. And somehow they're still our mothers.
Uh, no. Jesus is her son. Read the Scripture:
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
So don't do it.Deifying Mary is heresy.
Not what Scripture says, is it? That just Protestant tradition. She was nothing more than a chosen vessel for the birth of GOD's Son
surrogate /sûr′ə-gĭt, -gāt″, sŭr′-/but she had to agree to it before it could happen, hence a surrogate
It appears you've successfully avoided that pain. Sorry if the truth hurts
Better read the Athanasian Creed. (I started to say read it again, but I reckon it would be your first go.)Since the Father and the Holy Spirit are not the Son, and Mary only gave birth to Jesus, the Theotokos doctrine falls apart.
I'll have to take your word for that.Paganism worships a goddess
I didn't get my brown hair from my mom, either, but she's still my mom.-What i meant by that was, that Jesus did not get His divine nature from Mary.
Right. God, Father, Mary, Mother. We all have one of each. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary giving Mary the Seed for which she would give birth to. This Seed was not from Mary The Seed was given to Mary from God The Holy Spirit.
Ergo, she's the Mother of God.She gave birth to a baby that was fully God and fully man.
And thereafter unless she had sex with someone. And Mary was still a virgin after Jesus' birth.
Doesn't say he did afterward, either, does it? That's Protestant Tradition talking. So not until after Jesus was born did Joseph and did not know her till she had brought forth her first born Son.
It's not a required creed.Better read the Athanasian Creed. (I started to say read it again, but I reckon it would be your first go.)
Yes, in the sense that all created things come from God. But we still talk about Jesus having come "from the seed of David" (Rom. 1:3) even though David and his seed ultimately came from God.Where do women get their seed to give birth to their children. Do these seeds not come from God, they are not divine but still God is the originator of life.
Because the Virgin Birth was a miraculous event that would not have come about naturally without the Holy Spirit initiating the Incarnation. The Nicene Creed says the Son "by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary."If this was solely from Mary, why did the Holy Spirit come upon her.
The Father is God
The Son is God
The Holy Spirit is God
The Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit
The Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is not the Father or the Son.
Since the Father and the Holy Spirit are not the Son, and Mary only gave birth to Jesus, the Theotokos doctrine falls apart.
Paganism worships a goddess, so pointing the finger with three fingers pointing back just is what it is.
I re-read the creed and remembered why it isn't essential. And apparently ignorance is bliss.
Do you imagine each Person of the Trinity as something like "one third" of God?Since the Father and the Holy Spirit are not the Son, and Mary only gave birth to Jesus, the Theotokos doctrine falls apart.
No. (besides, that wouldn't work out mathematically either)Do you imagine each Person of the Trinity as something like "one third" of God?
