I need a man to make me feel feminine. Lol they thought I was someone else in church when I started to date my ex. All of a sudden I wore the most beautiful dresses, make up, puffed up hair. That feels so stupid to walk around like that but then I liked it.

He was the only one who could see through it. Others thought: Eeww. I wore my brother ' s pants, really dressed and tried to act like a guy. Always hung out with the guys. I'd carry the heavy boxes and everything to set up the stage.

I like Calamity Jane, the Doris Day version.
When I have a date my mom says: Look we have a girl! I thought we had a farmer guy.

When my father shaved his beard, everyone was quite shocked at how similar we looked.
Prior to that everyone thought I looked like my mother.

Whatever the case we are very square There's not a slightly built person on either side of the family. I think pretty much all the women could look the spit of their fathers if it were not for certain anatomical differences. Similarly all the men could pass for their mothers, again if not for certain anatomical differences.

I basically look like my cousin, but with brown eyes and long hair. Perhaps a little less in terms of facial hair, but either way I'm very masculine.

We're just taller versions of the Dwarves Tolkein described...

On that note, was there not a study somewhere that said men tend to take after their mothers, and daughters their fathers? I could be making that up...

You do really look alike. I love how you drew a beard on yourself. I see what you are saying, but I think my personality is more like my mom's. I did inherit a few really strong traits from my dad, but I'd say overall I'm more like her.

I remember when I was a young kid, everyone used to say I looked like my dad. I used to get so upset. I wanted to look like my mom (I think I also thought this meant I looked like a boy, haha)

If I recall my possibly-made-up study correctly, it was the physical features that children inherited from their parents which bore stronger similarities to the father/mother. It was discussing the fact that men tended to pass down their physical attributes to daughters but not their sons. At the same time this could just be because we notice masculine/feminine traits more in someone we expect to me more feminine/masculine, so we notice the similarities between mother/son, father/daughter more when presented to us than perhaps we otherwise would. I need to find the study.

Personality is perhaps a different kettle of fish, as that is something we keep building upon. There's a core, and then we add to it.

The beard is an essential part of the comparison process.

I've always been an outdoorsy girl. I grew up on some what of a chicken farm. Lots of animals and mostly boys around growing up. The girls I did grow up with weren't afraid to get dirty outside like me, so we got along. Moved to the city in high school where I realized not too many guys here want to get their clothes dirty on a four wheeler or mud ride. lol. I'm usually the one who has to put the worm their hook when fishing too.

My dad was a builder so we were all brought up to be practical, and as we are low income there is no money to spare to pay other people to do stuff. After my husband left I had to be both parents to my daughter as best I could; I don't think of anything as being girly or manly; if it needs to be done then I will try to do it. If I can't do it, then it stays not done.

I can't/won't do electrics or plumbing, but I can do most other stuff around the house. My garden fence fell down, and I asked my brothers to help me with it, but they were suddenly unavailable for months, so I did it myself; one fence post at a time, one panel at a time. I asked other friends but they said they were too old to do fencing any more. Funny how indifferent people can be. It took a while because there was concrete to break up in some places; that was hard, but I got there in the end; we now have a beautiful new fence (see piccy). All the old wood pieces are in my back garden, gradually being cut up and put into the bin, a few bits at a time.

All the time the fence was broken I was so anxious; it made me very unwell. Nobody cared. But now it is much better; safer. I want to paint it before the winter, but there is plenty of time left for that.

When the bathrooms needed new floors I did that too, although it was not easy. I do all the interior decorating, although my daughter helps with painting sometimes.

It takes me a long time, but I have lots of time so I just try to do a little bit at a time, and then suddenly one day it is done. Or not. : )

Oh MehGuy, be reassured that you are a manly man, I have many girly features mostly in my personality.
I really love cooking and I like my room to be clean but not too organized. Fashion-wise I force myself not to care, because my tastes are.......unconventional, for a guy at least. While I wear a conventional shirt/jeans set it's really colourful stuff, usually with really strong colours. However lately it seems fashionable, at least in Denmark that is.
I usually am quiet but if I'm around someone close to me they get annoyed with how much I talk, really annoyed! Like I can't keep my mouth shut and blabber about every single insignificant thing.I rea;;y dislike cars and footballs unless there are many yellow and red cards involved, then it starts being dramatic ;) I watch anime, hence my profile pic, mostly comedy and romance but I'm ok with whatever has a good story and no fan-rubbish. I read a lot when I was small, then internet happened then I started forums and reading article, on the flipside I like video-games if they have a good artistic value and good story. Online FPS/RTS/whatever is good too if I play with friends that tolerate my endless unintentional vocal commentaries.
I wish my hair was longer, it's almost to my shoulders, too short for me.
I look like a silent masculine type but once individuals get to know me they are surprised 'cause I'm the opposite of how I look.
AAAAAND I'm weird, this is unisex, but it's a big part of experiencing me, according to my bff.
I'm thrifty, my dad says I'm cheap. :p I don't wear jewellery* and the only make-up* I wear now is mascara. I'm still girlie and like girlie things, but I don't need much of it.
Hello maka, remember me? It's Barney, from Black Mesa!
I don't shave or wear make-up*.
Also I have the barest amount of fashion sense needed to dress myself and am uninterested in clothes.
I like that! Let's have a boring party with 2 rules: no shaving and boring clothes! At that party we can discuss about pros and cons of different types of feminists and what approaches are most beneficial when advocating gender equality. Some personal empowerment would be nice as-well while we're at it.
I guess being in the bay area, there's lots of homosexuals here so mistakenly believe certain people are for whatever reason.
Lots of years ago I lived in Sweden, some guys were hitting on me, in high-school and especially in gymnasium, then I started having a beard, it's super effective, no one is making moves on me any-more. However I went to Italy on a vacation a few weeks ago and I cut the beard short because it's hot there and stuff, needless to say there was a homosexual couple checking me out.
Being checked out was really creepy for me, but you get used to it after a while, even enjoy it D:
Can't wait for the beard to grow again, it's a love/hate relationship when I'm being checked out by people.
Sometimes it's nice to live peacefully and ignored by the society, especially when you have the bachelor project coming up.

What do any of these posts mean?

tumblr_inline_npigxajhjB1qzz7kf_500.png

I'm trying to bang my head into a wall. Hold on for a sec........done!

OK, so I though since we both dislike to shave we should do a party for people who don't shave only.
Then I thought at this party it would be a good idea to complain about the beauty standards of society followed by discussing about pros and cons of different manifestations of feminism because I personally believe that running naked on the streets to complain about objectification is disgraceful. Then we could've also talked about what approaches are most beneficial when advocating gender equality, because calling someone a misogynist is the worst way of telling people feminism is something good.

If you don't understand this post either then I'm giving up speaking English and might succumb to dark telepathic magic.

Ok, that one is much easier to understand. Sorry, I don't think I've spoken to you before, so I couldn't understand what you meant.

I carry a tampon in my backpack.

If somebody gets shot or stabbed I can just insert the tampon into their wound.
What the heck!?! LOL

I'm pretty far from your typical girly-girl, but that doesn't mean I don't like being one from time to time. It's just few and far between. Normally, I'm in jeans, sneakers/sandals, t-shirt, and usually have a charm necklace on. That's it...I hate make-up and can't stand a ton of jewelry on me (especially rings...I work with my hands and like to get down and dirty, so rings clogging up my fingers just ain't gonna happen). I don't even have a ton of clothes or shoes. I have, like, maybe 6 pairs of shoes? >.>
