I think a lot of late nite political content isnt meant to be humor so much as quite serious but breezy commentary.

For me its dumb jokes that categorically arent funny. Stuff thats blunt and obvious.

There is no indication that these people were killed because of their gender identity. Most are people of color. They are more often victims of homicide.BLM silent when confronted with data showing massive 2020 spike in Black murder victims

Only when you dive into the actual events you find that there is no way to determine the crime was committed because they were trans or it was other members of the LGBTQ community that committed the crime. Its not hang-ups. Its s sign of normal human empathy. Pretty much everybody has a line somewhere about content thats not funny because of personal experience or because its genuinely mean to others - except for psychopaths.

Your line because of "personal experience" is an emotional hangup. Human empathy is only involved when an actual person is actually harmed. That's why I mentioned distinguishing fantasy from reality.

We used to be able to laugh at ourselves. I've seen black comedians tell jokes about white people and we all laughed at that. Comedy was always about making ng fun or poking fun at generalities about all of us. It was funny and we all had to laugh cause it's at least partially true.

People need to chill out. Quit wearing our feelings on our sleeves, especially when it comes to comedy.

There are many sad things that can be seen in modern society. Pretending something is a hate crime when it is not is one of them.
