It doesn't say what you claimed. Would you rather they would have counted equally and given states that allowed slavery even more power?and who were the people who were not free?
Nazi, bigot, homophobe, hatemonger et al. And there are plenty of people who keep quiet because they don't want that kind of label.Name anyone whom has been silenced by being called a Nazi on either side? Being called a Nazi happens all the time. No one is silenced by it.
Well there's the man who got arrested for "causing trans anxiety". Right now being charged with something like that happens in the UK, but that doesn't mean it's going to stay there. LGBTTQQIAAP+ has become quite powerful, pervasive and very persuasive. I know, I know, that's just paranoid hyperbole, nothing like that will ever happen....I know of no such law so I took it as hyperbole. Name the law and we can look into it but so far the only instances I have seen held up was some street preacher causing a disturbance. I have to date heard zero cases of someone being tried and convicted under any law forbidding discussion of LGTBQ issues.

You're pretending that people aren't intimidated by labels, and that labeling isn't used as an effective intimidation tactic. Then that is on them. I notice it has not kept you or me silent. I have been called many things in my time. Baby killer. Commie. bigot. I have yet to let it silence me. If I call you a bigot it is because I feel you are acting in a bigoted way. My goal is not to silence you but to inform and (Hopefully though it rarely happens) cause self reflection. Is this not the whole point of debate?
No mafia, just a rapidly growing social and political force that's an extension of wokeism. People get charged under the broad scope of "hate crime" all the time.So you can't name the law and have one reported instance of someone who was arrested and has yet to be tried. Yes I am not going to freak out about that just like I did not freak out about the woke bills in Florida. It is not something that will survive scrutiny. Just like you can still be a white supremacist you can still hate on homosexuals. No one is stopping you or oppressing you by expressing their own opinion.
Yes. It is paranoid hyperbole. There is no gay Mafia gunning for your right of free speech.
They should keep it quiet if they are spouting opinions that line up with Nazi ideology, bigotry, homophobic beliefs, or hatemongering. It's just not an acceptable point of view in an egalitarian society. In other words in a society based on equality.Nazi, bigot, homophobe, hatemonger et al. In this country we are guaranteed three things; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I would never object to or interfere with anyone's pursuit of happiness, whatever it may be unless it harms someone else. Whatever makes someone feel happy and fulfilled it's their right to pursue it. But I have a right to disagree. I don't think young kids should be at drag shows. I don't think kids in kindergarten through 4th grade should be discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in school.. I shouldn't be called a bigot because of that. It's not hateful it's just my opinion. If you feel differently that's your opinion. If I had a kid that age they would be in private school. I paid to put my son through private school before this was an issue because I didn't want him to go through what I went through. But some people don't seem to understand that people have a right to disagree with them. When you do you are a bigot, trans phobic or whatever else they want to call you. I'm sure LGBTQ people go through a lot of that. It seems strange that they would do the same thing to other people. I don't know if it's LGBTQ people or just people who support them. But they need to learn there is more than one view and disagreeing with them is not hateful or bigoted. Then that is on them. I notice it has not kept you or me silent. Name a single hate speech law in the US. As far as I am aware all attempts have been considered unconstitutional.
you can loose your job for being LGBT
They're not spouting Nazi ideology, bigotry, homophobic beliefs, or hatemongering - they're just being accused of it. Just being a conservative Christian automatically comes with those labels these days depending on the crowd. Look at the pressure on the Church to stay silent about sin and go with the secular flow. They should keep it quiet if they are spouting opinions that line up with Nazi ideology, bigotry, homophobic beliefs, or hatemongering. It's just not an acceptable point of view in an egalitarian society. In other words in a society based on equality.
How can people tolerate being treated unfairly!?
After decades of being “cancelled” for simply existing, LGBTQIA+ have gotten a tiny, little bit of cultural power and there will be misuses of it from time to time until a new boundary is established.
Please, it can be placed under the umbrella of "domestic terrorism" or something similar. They're trying to put the former President of the United Sates in jail for something he said. It's just a matter of tweaking or broadening current laws established though Homeland Security, or coming up with new laws to make it constitutional. If only I had a dollar for everything they said would never happen, that has happened or is happening.Name a single hate speech law in the US. FYI it's currently "LGBTTQQIAAP+". Although that might also be outdated by now.How can people tolerate being treated unfairly!?

Do you long for the day when we can “go back to normal” and excise LGBTQIA+ folk when they dare to show themselves?

Where is it an effective intimidation tactic? Certainly not here. For it to be an effective intimidation tactic people have to be afraid of it? Are you afraid of it? Who is?
The US Constitution accounting for people who are not free?Just says people who were not free would count as 3/5 for the purposes of the census

I see. So some future hypothetical hate speech law might possibly block people who might change the constitution?I didn't say there were any right now.
When you say "its just my opinion" it sounds like youre advocating universal tolerance for all opinions, and that no opinion should count against ones character. Is that true?In this country we are guaranteed three things; life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
