The only thing to stop a bad person is a stupid person bowling with a gun in his pocket.
I'm sure the gun control people in the Democrat Party will figure this one out sooner than later, I mean it's surely only a matter of time, given it's so obvious - that the only thing keeping us safe from bad people is really stupid people.

I can see it now - some gun control person on the far left will make a movie - maybe include bowling in the script, and link it with some shooting tragedy for optimum effect, Columbine maybe.

Once they've dumbed people down with enough things like that movie, then maybe they'll draft legislation to arm those stupid people - and then show them how to protect themselves by bowling with their guns - or other gems like peeing on their attackers, or yelling at them to stop...

...while they congratulate themselves on Capital Hill over how smart they are for figuring out the solution to guns...

I would consider that carrying a loaded weapon is inherently dangerous. Much in the same way that walking with scissors is. However, sufficient precautions SHOULD prevent accidents happening, but we know they still do.
when those basic safety rules are violated. There is a reason folks like JCSr are resistant to answering questions regarding how one of these accidents could happen if the firearm was carried in a manner consistent with the manufacturers design. They have to resort to obtuse 3rd grade humor saying the bowling ball didn't malfunction or whatever. The gun didn't malfunction. The user carried it in a manner it is not designed to be carried. A random space on any given floor has a greater statistical probability to injure you than a properly carried gun. Should we ban floors?

We can agree that if did not have a firearm on his person whilst bowling then he would have not shot himself in the leg.
we can all agree drunk drivers that wreck cars would not have been in car wrecks (probably) if they hadn't been operating a car while drunk. We can all agree that the person using machine in an irresponsible manner would not have had an accident with that machine had they used it appropriately. Huh. . .

Why you would want to arm yourself with a deadly weapon while going for a game of bowling I don't think I'll ever understand.
In the US, incidents of crackheads doing robberies in parking lots aren't unheard of. Maybe he took the bus to get to the bowling alley and has to walk a troubled neighborhood to get to the bus stop. Maybe his ex-boyfriend is stalking him. Maybe gay bashers have beaten him in the past, to within an inch of his life and he doesn't want to chance that again. Maybe he was with someone who is being stalked or has been a bashing victim or a mugging victim and he knows the cops showed up too late last time. Maybe something just as simple as exercising a civil right. Unfortunately the guy in this story used his right irresponsibly & carried in a manner inconsistent with the manufacturers designed intent.

You have defended the gun, and the gun thanks you.

It is apparent that you do not have the first clue about what I am saying in this thread, and you keep wanting to take the thread off topic with irrelevant information and 1rst grade thinking like banning floors.

All you who want to bowl with guns in your pocket, have fun! Don't look to me for sympathy if and when you shoot yourselves.

there it is again, anthropmorphizing machines again. Really, they don't talk, don't murder, don't decide to shoot bowlers in the leg. They are machines which can be used for good or ill.

nah man, I may think you are completely wrong in your conclusions and your reasoning utterly flawed, but I understand what you have been saying. Countering your points with things like logic and truth are not taking the conversation off topic, but I understand your confusion.

Okay, cool. The vast majority of us carry in appropriate holsters and according to the gun manufactures intent for that design, so yeah we'll go about having fun and won't need any sympathy. We'll also use this guy as a poster boy for why not to carry inappropriately & violate safety rules. "This is what can happen, don't be like limpy the leg shooting bowler".
