My daughter is asking us when Christmas is every day. I didn't get a chance to put up one of those chocolate advent calendars so I thought I'd see if I could make one. I found some cute ideas on About.com but wondered if any of you had done anything like this or could suggest something.

Thanks!!

No, but I have been looking for one. Have you bought one before? Or did you make it yourself? I would love to hear too from anyone who has any ideas on that. We had one back in high school in my German classes each year. I thought they were the greatest thing and I would LOVE to share that with my kids!

I found a cute one at About.com. But you can do it yourself.

It's a tree with ornaments you cut out. The ornaments are numbered 24 to 2 and the star is 1. I had my daughter color everything yesterday and today we'll cut it out. On Dec. 1, she'll glue the 24 ornament (they're just circles with numbers in them). It's pretty cute.

Another idea - make a hand wreath with numbers. Take a paper plat and cut out the center, making a wreath form. Then trace your kids hand prints on green construction paper. Number them 24 to 1. Glue them on beginning Dec. 1, from 24 to 1 on Christmas eve.
