Illegal drugs are being smuggled in by illegals.

Mexican drug cartels have found a new source of labor to backpack marijuana into the United States: illegal immigrants.

"They hit us, threw us on the ground, searched us and took our money," Rodolfo said at the Pecos Criminal Justice Center in Pecos, Texas. "Then they told us if we didn't smuggle drugs for them, they would kill us. They didn't give us any other option."

I stand correct. Thank you. I mean it doesn't speak to frequency but clearly it does.

I wonder what would be a just punishment? Send them back to be murdered by the cartel or imprisonment in the US?

I have a better idea than punishment, right off the top of my head. Swear them in as deputies on the spot, and issue them a green card on the spot. Have them lead DEA agents to the members of the drug cartel who are waiting for those drugs in the U.S.; and when captured, give them the death penalty. Pay the victim a generous reward for assisting the DEA in the capture of the cartel; and send them (if they are willing to collect another generous reward) back over the border to do it again.

If they don't wish to go back over the border; they can stay here on their green card; if they keep continue to aid law enforcement on this side of the border.

That is failing miserably at this time, as states loosen restrictions on marijuana, and fentanyl overdoses are skyrocketing.

What else do you have, besides more of the same?

But that's from a poisoned supply NOT increase usage.

How's that?
They were being forced to help smuggling cannabis. It was pointed out that in the near future that’s going away due to it no longer being illegal. Suddenly they are forgotten and out comes whatabout deaths from a different substance.

But did you read your article? They dropped the drugs in the desert. They never saw the pick up.

And you'll be glad to know they brought those agents back to the drop points and found the drugs.

I'm sure they wouldn't want to go back over thr border as the cartel would hunt them down so fast.

I posted that article to refute the assertion that illegal drugs aren't being brought in by illegals.

Why would you infer that fentanyl is somehow exempt from this practice?

Higher value and lower bulk.

But did you read your article?
Not in depth.
And you'll be glad to know they brought those agents back to the drop points and found the drugs.
So they were working with law enforcement? If so, that's good. Law enforcement, should have staked out the area, instead of just going back to pick up the drugs. What we are doing isn't working. We need to start trying some new ideas.
I'm sure they wouldn't want to go back over thr border as the cartel would hunt them down so fast.
Undercover agents manage to work on case after case. If we have such victims who are willing to work with us on a green card, we can train them, and even relocate them to a part of the border that is controlled by a different cartel, if need be.

This could be an honest path to citizenship, and maybe even a high paying cushy job in Federal law enforcement.

That was as best as I could determine as well.
It would appear that this was a mixture of fentanyl and meth, being sold as meth.

Getting arrested probably saved her life. If she had taken the drug while she was alone; she might not have survived.

You brought up marijuana smuggling in posts 18 and 32. I was responding to those off-topic posts.
My posts were relevant in the fact that they refute any assertion that drugs aren't being smuggled across the border by illegals.

They don't really add anything to what remains of this "discussion".
The one that I posted in post #53 relates directly to my response to your concerns.

I'm doing research on the subject of fentanyl; and when I saw that video, I remembered your response in post #35.

Dr. Todd Grande asserts that fentanyl is often added to other drugs, like cocaine and methamphetamine, primarily for economics.
