As I quoted from post #234:
And China continues to build coal-fired power plants at a rate that outpaces the rest of the world combined.

Does this sound like China is working with us, or anyone else?

Just glad you're taking an interest in what needs to be done. And yeah, China is making a rod for it's own back. Write to your Congressman about it. Send the Chinese Embassy a stern email: chinaembpress_us@mfa.gov.cn. Maybe go rake a forest near you.

Do your bit for the planet.

At least America is now treating it seriously and actively working with China on solutions. Note the bolded section:

'SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The United States and China, the world's two biggest carbon polluters, agreed to cooperate to curb climate change with urgency, just days before President Joe Biden hosts a virtual summit of world leaders to discuss the issue.

The agreement was reached by U.S. special envoy for climate John Kerry and his Chinese counterpart Xie Zhenhua during two days of talks in Shanghai last week, according to a joint statement.

The two countries "are committed to cooperating with each other and with other countries to tackle the climate crisis, which must be addressed with the seriousness and urgency that it demands," the statement said.' U.S., China Agree To Cooperate On Climate Crisis With Urgency

Now whether the US, together will everyone else (except those considering the whole matter to be a conspiracy) can keep China honest in regard to their promises is a matter that will play out over the next few years.

You just better hope that they can.
Or whether the USA elects Trump again and climate action is once again on the back burner. It's not only China but Asia, South America, Africa, Eastern block countries, e.t.c.

Somehow this action on climate change seems to be moving at a snail's pace.

Don't expect too much and you will not be disappointed.

The evidence leads straight to the cause.

Chop down a twenty square kilometer forest then build a city and a metro area. I guarantee you that the temperature in that new city area and metro, will rise by three to four degrees.

Chop down millions of acres of trees and let the sun impact brown fields, temperature goes up.

Fill the atmosphere with increasing levels of CO2, again temperature rises.

Let's see if we can get the world population above 8 billion people, I wonder if that will affect global warming?

Lot's of countries make a lot of money out of weapon sales. Wars are impossible to stop.

Most of the land on the Earth is uncultivated and unoccupied, even with 8 billion people. That's easy to see by viewing the world via Google Earth.

China has pledged to peak its emissions by 2030, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 (that means cutting out all carbon emissions from fossil fuels but still allowing farm emissions of methane - another planet-heating gas). However, China is currently running 1,058 coal plants - more than half the world's capacity.

I would certainly hope that by 2060 most of the world had progressed technologically enough to no longer need the use of fossil fuels.

As it is with all progress, probably in industrial countries far before other countries. There will still be fossil fuel consumption in the third world well into the 22nd century (assuming there are still humans left).

Except that we need a lot of that land left for animals, and trees and such, plus a lot of the the areas that can easily grow stuff are already cut down. Were kinda maxed out for the population we have least to healthily feed everyone.

It has been up here ever since that brief heatwave passed.

Good to hear. Sadly, many vulnerable people didn't make it. It's never a good thing when BC is hotter than Phoenix, AZ for 3 days....

plus while it's cooler there is still multiple fires, and alberta/manitoba and such are much hotter then normal. And the real damage caused by the heat dome will be in the next few months, especially august where the drying has started early and just how many major fires will happen and destruction to homes and lives.

One town is already wiped off the face of the earth, a city came close, plus like 128 fires already.

Yes,the town burnt down because of a conspiracy, your so right. And texas froze to pwn all those ebil conservatives.

You're attempting to equate correlation with causation (of something that is only a theory).

China has 10*'x the population or so of the US but only polutes twice as much. And they are working to cut back, what is the US doing to cut back?

Working to cut back? Seriously?

And China continues to build coal-fired power plants at a rate that outpaces the rest of the world combined. ... China has also proposed additional new coal plants that, if built, would generate 73.5 gigawatts of power, more than five times the 13.9 gigawatts proposed in the rest of the world combined.
Despite Pledges to Cut Emissions, China Goes on a Coal Spree.

What do we need animals for? They eat food we could use, and they put out farts that are greenhouse gasses (just as cows do). By eliminating them, we could save the planet.

China also does this:

World’s largest solar plant goes online in China

There was a thread about it in this forum. Reactions were mostly "what shenanigans are those chinese up to now"?
