WizardBoy01 said:LOTR says that this ring will destroy the world so thats liek tha anti-christ, and than wizards who openly practice witch craft go to destroy it. there are demons and creatures from hell and the heros are all possesed buy the ring(anti-christ) so if you don't like harry potter because of witchcraft this is worse guys.
I agreeFletcher said:I think what Wizard-Boy was trying to point out was the hypocrisy of embracing "Lord of the Rings", which features protagonists who are wizards and use magic, while rejecting "Harry Potter," which has protagonists who are wizards who use magic. I think the whole "either book is evil because it features magic" argument is false, because the concept of magic in both works bears little to no resemblence to the occult. However, as a person earlier in this thread said, if you were going to accuse either work of promoting Satanism, it would be "Lord of the Rings", as the wizards in the story get their power from a higher source, while in "Harry Potter" magic is genetic. However, anyone who reads both works will realize that the whole idea of either work actually promoting Satanism is ridiculous.

ShirleyTemple777 said:Um...I just wanted to say that HP embraces the hole witch-craft thing..while LOTR is all about destroying the evil. I will never be involed with HP.. Sorry if I offended anyone.
Sorry to bring up the topic when everyone was having fun![]()
WizardBoy01 said:I think the christians chose what to belive they say harry potter is evil but star wars abd LOTR is not. Just like narnia thats full of witch craft but it is full of religious symbolizim i know what i'm saying i'm taking a radical standpoint that some people take to get what they want.
This is my last post on this thread, then I am thoroughly ignoring it's existance.ShirleyTemple777 said:Did ya'll know the lady who writes the HP books is a witch and puts real spells in them?Any ways, So what if I'm a loser and I do NOT wish to talk about this any more.

Humbledmac said:ok the difference in magic between Harry Potter and LOTR is that Harry Potter's magic is based off of real occult chants and incantations.
LOTR doesn't have a single incantation in it.
